šŸ“£[UNBANNED NOW] Banned for ''botting'' (See what a bot looks like)

Yes, personal attacks + exaggerated and stupid question. Thank you for a perfect example.

What looks like a duck, walks like a duck, swims like a duck, flies like a duck and does quack?

Atari - We will never know. We can not say itā€™s a duck until he admit. And after that we can not do anything, he might be joking, lying or confused about his existence.

I have seen some bots running around who jumps once at set intervals.
Theyā€™re likely bots since they were running up against a wall for a very long time. (something probably broke their botting)

So let me get this straight:
First you call the GMs to that map so they ban bots.
Then the GMs actually react and go to that map.
And when the GMs then ask the players grinding on that map questions to determine whether they are bots or not you simply ignore the GM because ā€œyou didnā€™t feel like respondingā€ and then complain that you were banned for being a botā€¦ WTF are you serious?

Thatā€™s probably the most stupid thing iā€™ve ever heard in TOS.
Why do you ignore the GMs questions, aka behave like a bot, on purpose?
Especially after you wanted the GMs to do a botcheck on the same map you were at.

Do you also expect the police or a SWAT team to leave you alone when they yell at you ā€œget your hands up or we will shootā€ while you wonā€™t react to them because ā€œyou donā€™t feel like responding to themā€?

Yes, simple as that. If you move around, aka there is clearly character control input being done, but you donā€™t respond to the GM, aka the police, you are suspected of botting. Itā€™s your own fault for being such an arrgogant prick who thinks he doesnā€™t have to respond to GMs if he doesnā€™t feel like it.

Footage proves heā€™s a bot, GM went through the proper procedure and observed his obviously botting behavior for 12 minutes, thereā€™s nothing wrong here at all.

i feel like i should tag you here @atari to understand a little more about him/her

I_donā€™t_care

And yes, Iā€™ve read this already. He had valid points and proved some of them. In a bit extreme manner. Even if he is a botter.

His video showed a clumsy and ineffective procedure with a high probability of false-positives. It also showed a very precise routing and timing, which are quite suggestive.

If that video would show some kind of unblocable clearly seen message warning him that he will get banned, I would admit that he fcked up. However GM is who fcked up this time.

Lastly @elzeraus, you may be a self-proclaimed winner in your little argument with @Avidity as much as you wish, but keep me out of it. Even if you are seeking for attention. Just get few more likes from those lemmings and be happy.

Doesnā€™t that video show the GMā€™s messages? If the video was able to record the GMā€™s chat messages then that means Avidity would have been able to see them right?

So if Avidity was able to see the GMā€™s messages, would it be unreasonable to say Avidity f*cked up here and, at least in this case, the GMā€™s ban was completely justified?

But those messages:

  • Can be disabled -> Should not be used to justify a ban
  • Had no stated consequences of not answering -> Should not be used to justify a ban

He saw a GM talking to him and chose to ignore the GM and continue farming. Iā€™m confused about why you think the ban was unjustified.

GM asking him to respond to his txt. Video shows that the text bubble was visible. GM stood there for a long ass time too.

#Terms of Service requires you to respond to any inquiries made by IMC Games.

The GM made an attempt to speak to him. Regardless of the GM not coming out and say, ā€œYOUā€™LL BE BANNED FOR NO REPLYINGā€, he was still required to reply, period.

#GM didnā€™t like being ignored. GM has the right to ban him under suspicion of botting.

Avidity damned himself by not replying. Thatā€™s the fact and his ban was justified. I am willing to agree that the GM can be more up front about whatā€™s going on in case a player is pants-on-head retarded and has absolutely no idea what a GM is, but Iā€™m not willing to agree that Avidityā€™s ban was not justified. This dude is a corrupt piece of human trash and needs to stay gone. Donā€™t make the game worse by trying to advocate for his unbanning. Especially knowing he agrees with ā€˜casual bottingā€™.

Thanks I can read, I saw the video and Iā€™m not arguing about text visibility in it.

But this video also shows that any player with disabled chat and chat baloon will probably get banned under the same conditions after such ā€œcheckā€.

But what if I cannot see them? I can just disable it in the game options.

Basically they can delete any account. This is a standard paragraph to avoid possible problems.

I havenā€™t read your posts above but you should remember that OP is a fcking liar. Hardly anyone can pretend GM messages and texts like not his/ her problem and continue farming like a bot.

At this point, I havenā€™t seen any unjustified ban from GM. I believe the GMs are delivering their justice even though not in an efficient manner of course

That statement implies making sure the player can see the GMā€™s messages.

This is really all that matters,in the end.

But also:

Users both in-game and in this forum know what a problem and nuisance bots are. They know what activities look suspicious to others. They know that all of the restrictions we currently have [and despise] are because IMC is extremely worried about botting and RMT as a result of it.

Avidity especially, with all of their posts concerning botting, knew very well what could have resulted doing what they did and made the decision to keep doing it anyway. The method may be debatable to some how the ban came to be,but when it came down to it,they failed to follow a rule clearly listed in the terms of service.Even if this rule wasnā€™t well known, common sense dictates that if youā€™re legitimately playing the game and paying attention to it,youā€™ll answer when you see a player asking for a reply in the GM outfit.

To me,thereā€™s nothing left to debate.Ban deserved.

Not reacting to GMs is a justification for banning, since NOT answering yet moving around indicates that no actual person but a bot is playing the game,

You may use an excuse like ā€œbut he didnā€™t see itā€ā€¦ the OP said that he ignores messages on purpose, even from GMs, just because he ā€œdoesnā€™t feel like answering themā€. Iā€™m pretty sure deliberately going against what the GM tells you to do/deliberately ignoring GMs goes against the game rules.

The GM does not have to state the consequences, as the consequences are already written in the terms of service that every player agrees on when playing this game.

You may have points about the chats being turned off might cause some issues with responding to a GM. My chat bugs out most of the time leaving a lot of shout post at the bottom instead and I turned off chat balloons due to mmogold spam. However, as youā€™ve stated moving them to a different area will just give scripters another reason to add lines that trigger alarms when theyā€™re in proximity of a GM class/forcefully teleported.

We need the GM loading screen again to constantly remind people what they look like, it seems. Or you know, stopping for a while after seeing a GM, jump around, and open the chat UI again to see whatā€™s wrong/say something.

Gm should be able to add an option to put a captch up on someones screen when doing a bot patrol. Not an auto captcha system. EXAMPLE- GM can right click player and select an option to make a captcha pop up in the middle of suspected botā€™s screen ( captcha would have a text under saying you can not read the image please tell gm in chat) if they fail to respond to the gm in chat or solve the captcha then GM should be able to ban on the spot

Regardless i agree the ban of avidity was justified. But a system like this would help the GMs while doing bot patrols to not run into false positives

Even if you turn off your chat and bubbles any human will stop moving and killing at the moment you see a GM next to youā€¦

@hienng1991 @FlanFlan
He is a bad person -> Ban was justified.
Not this shiet again.

@corsiritsmeurbrother
And we should also jump around every suspicious player in a similar TP costume. Or check every player. Besause we are guilty by definition.

Iā€™m repeatimg myself too much in this thread. Maybe Iā€™ll continue posting tomorrow if I will see something interesting.
