From my experiences dealing with companies, you can’t use nor sell the product commercially without any consent from the parent company. In this case, IMC can sue that person actually because of an unauthorized use of their logo. Doesn’t matter if it was tweaked, changed or modified as long as it bear resemblance to the original logo (as long as it is trademarked). If this was for personal use and not for sell, maybe there wouldn’t be any problem but that is IMC call to make.
P/S: If you’re gonna make a merchandise, do a dakimakura of the goddesses, for educational purposes.
