I dont know where to start writing but I find two handed weapons, specially staffs too weak. Simply any combination of rod + arde or mace + arde is stronger than staffs. The only viable staff in the game is audra because of its freezing utility.
Lets check lvl 170 examples:
Catacombs Staff: 158 matk 201 mamp
We can say this staff gives 259 damage on avarage
It has 1 aoe atk which all staffs have
16 def and 23 mdef which is funny because there arent any damage lower than 500 at lvl 170-220 range.
Maledoom Staff: 286 matk 22 int
Basically 308 damage and 1 aoe ratio.
Audra Staff: 265 matk
The thing about this staff is, it increases al cryo skills by 2 and every ice type damage you do has %15 freeze chance. Only decent staff if u were to ask me.
Catacombs Rod: 194 matk 68 earthatk
This rod gives 262 damage on avarage which is already more than catacombs staff. Also earth atk is a lot more valuable than matk since it makes additional atk like sacrament even stronger.
This staff also gives a very strong bonus of 1292 hp and useless 16 earth property res.
It has a penalty of -643 sp but i dont even think that is a problem since game is not reliant on sp pool, it relies more on sp regen. This penalty is also an advantage for classes like summoner or psychokino since it reduces the %sp spent.
+153 fire damage from arde
Khasti Rod: 214 matk 34 mamp
231 damage on avarage with a bonus of +39 more on cloth armor type targets.
+153 fire damage from arde
Ignition: 192 matk 22 fire atk
214 damage with a chance of burning.
10 spr as bonus.
+153 fire damage
And the most powerful combination that a mage can have:
Catacombs Club + Arde
303 matk from club and 153 fire damage from arde along with 1496 hp on club and 23 sp recovery.
Really?? A cleric weapon and a dagger being the strongest combination for a mage is absurd. On top of everything, using 2 weapons enables you to use 4 gems while using just staff means you have only 2 slots for gems.
TL:DR ------
Its really obvious that Two Handed weapons are way weaker right now.
What could be done to make Two handed weapons better?
- An atribute that increases your damage while wearing them, such as %10 - %20 which would be visible late game.
- Making gems have bonus effects when equiped on a two handed weapon.
- If not damage, give two handed weapons more unique effects like audra has.
