I have no idea what I’m doing, I just want to spin
the reason you took sword 3 seems to be for passive buffs, better take something like:
Sword > Highlander > Barb 3 > Doppel 2
Sword > Highlander 2 > Barb 2 > Doppel 2
you don’t seem to be interested in pelt so i’m leaving that out
between these 2 builds which is more on the offensive side? also will lv5 cross guard be good enough to block during late game. for stats what is the ideal distributation?
Yes, it’s enough.
Both are pretty offensive if you ask me,
Build 1 is more buff oriented, charging frenzy and having a better warcry to improve your DOV
Build 2 is having more tools to spam, you get 3 of highlander’s best slash types but you have a weaker warcry and I didn’t take frenzy here because Frenzy at level 5 isn’t that impressive+ you won’t get the barb C3 frenzy attribute.
stats wise it depends on what you want to do, for solo farming I’d go high dex, for party oriented dps, it’s somewhere around 100 dex, 100+ con and rest on str. high con to support DOV
I have a Pelt, and I love the fact I have 20k HP at level 99 with Swashbuckling. (Though that’s mostly from the fact I’m stacking HP gear lol)
This was built around just to spin around all day and Gungho is ridiculous with a maxed out Concentrate (especially with passive level 50),
I know swordsman as a DPS isn’t in a great place, but I was going for a spin to win bruiser anyway, and the final build isn’t set in stone yet, But I do know I want me some Mordschlag with Cyclone lol. If we had rank 10 unlocked, I’d go Barb 3, sword 3 and Doppel 3 without a doubt, but I doubt we’ll get [that] any time soon.
Gungho is okay because DOV helps it, Concentrate has very little damage difference per level making hit counts your purpose, most of the damage is coming from attributes.
Buffing concentrate becomes a chore later in the game, your skills will probably hit somwhere around 4k-6k, concentrate adds 100+ per hit later on, nothing significant, still the same kill time on parties. I only use it when the party is doing nothing, resting, etc.
Gungho Lv 5-15 is about 30 damage difference, even with DOV it isn’t too much, 5 is enough. Restrain and pain barrier are more arguable than these two buffs, which are more than enough for C1.
and again I didn’t include pelt(I always do) but the thread starter doesn’t seem to want pelt, so I didn’t.
concentrate adds damage on hit, so dov doesn’t help it
with 100 dex does it crit often enough to make good use of highlander’s 2h sword crit damage attribute?
Two hand crit sword attribute isn’t anything big, press F1, check your critical attack stat, that’s what the attribute boosts, not the final crit damage.
Yes you will crit a lot with items like
2 Sissels, Lv5-6 green gems, magi 2H sword
Yeah, I understand the whole Pelt thing since, as everyone knows; swordie’s in a bad place right now DPS wise.
I’d only put restrain at level 5 just because of the hit to HP, something we kinda need regardless if we’re DPS or tank, plus 1/5 chance to stun isn’t that bad at all. (Though does it only apply for basics or both skills and basics?)
Though I’m liking the input so far, it’s helping me think of a better skillset for the build in question.
I was actually confused a bit thinking you weren’t the thread starter, lol
but anyway, good luck on your build. In case you haven’t noticed I left about 3 skill points on doppel for you to put anything you want
so the 2h sword crit attribute makes little to no difference in crit damage and i can avoid highlander rank and opt for pelt instead?
a lot of people do sword>pel>barb3>doppel. so you’re good with that
so it’s either to pelt or not to pelt. ktos swordsman updates seem rather nice. skyliner becomes spammable makes it worth 2 ranks. barb gets 50% slash damage increase buff from cleave. not going pelt allows you to block with 2h swords. going pelt gives nice hp boost and taunt. right now for parties it’s either pelt or “we may grab that peltless swordie because we feel bad since no one else is joining anyways, oh nevermind another swordie and he has pelt”. Im mostly solo so i’ll probably go highlander. now the question is high1 barb3 or high2 barb2. i almost never pick swordsman type classes in games, this is a first for me.
Hyper better build. Highlander will give you temporary Defense with the sword using skill and you can buy critic atributes.
Barbarian and Doppel = True moves of the 2 hand sword fighter.
does DoV still get the bonus stacks if you have cross guard up? also how well does cross guard block physical attacks at higher levels like lv220+
cross guard scales with level and str, so it works pretty well as long as mobs deal physical damage
you should get hit to stack dov
so block doesn’t count as a hit, aw thats too bad.
