That’s if there was a single key being given out. There’s 5000 of them. You have a chance at every single one until you get one or they run out. If you wanted to make an individual chance then you could deduct 4999 people from both of the totals and have a hunger-games-esque fight for the last key, then you’d get the correct individual chance.
Imagine 5000 counters in a bag. There’s 12800 people waiting in line. Two counter colours - blue and red. Blue means no beta key, red means beta key. The first person has a 39%~ chance to get a red, and a 61~ chance to get a blue. Because he doesn’t put his red counter back in the bag if he gets one, there’s one less red counter for the next guy. However, blue counters always remain at the same amount, so the next guy’s chances of getting a red counter are diminished if the guy before him gets one.

Considering you’d have a 0.0128% chance of winning… the odds are never in your favour.
Whats the odds to get a pair number in a dice? 3/6 = 50% because half of the numbers are pair. Whats the chance to get a key? 5000/~12000 = ~42%. Obviously there are others thing to take in account like the members who are helping whith translantion and have a garanted key or the members who arent allowed to participate. But theres no reason to calculate by another way than that

Well my chances of getting one are lower because bad luck.
For the last key?lol,no,it’s not about luck or probability,for the last key it’s all about skill if we go to a “battle royale”, I think my odds are higher than that xD. Unless everyone else here is military trained or something,lol,then my odds are 0.
But the dice always keeps the 6 faces,in our case,key numbers are diminshing. You can get the same face on a dice, but you can’t give the same key twice.
Well good thing the cut off is tomorrow! XD Tomorrow we’ll have a lot of passengers on the feel train.

I only found out about this game from a friend. I don’t think I would have known about this game other wise. I hope that this beta generates more hype for this game! It’s always nice to be on a populated game.
I am waiting for this game for years. Played RO for a decade and this is exactly the type of game that will make me lose my job again. Oh…the nostalgy…

I said that this CBT is only for testing to help the developers make the game better but I am feeling so excited. I think I won’t be able to sleep nor do anything else this night except for lurking on this forum and watching videos of people playing ToS.

Like you I am also a big fan of RO, actually the memories of RO were ones of the most precious and happiest moments I ever had, leaded me out of my darkest times in life. Some days ago, I just realized that a memory is only a memory, it is something from the past, it can’t replace the present and the future no matter how precious it is. Finally for once after a decade, I stopped playing or looking back to RO, now I am fully looking forward for a new future, new adventures, new places to explore and of course new friends. So exciting… This might sound pathetic to some of you but honestly ToS is the only thing I have been looking forward in life. Without ToS, the me right now would feel so empty.
