Introduction

Tree of Seabird (ToSb) is a popular free to play fully PVP text-based online browser game developed by IMC Games that features the hybrid of massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) and turn-based strategy (TBS).

In ToSb, the Player (aka Seabirds) have to prove themselves as the best of the best by engaging in brutal text shooting hell, battle royale or strategic point control battles (aka Flagging) in instanced battlegrounds call Threads. The game requires combination of good planning, patience, timing, logic, imagination, and creativity. In short, a smart brain. Only the very best masochist will remain standing.

The unique name of ToSb was inspired by it’s predecessor, Tree of Savior (ToS) where the name was accidentally mis-translated by GoogleTranslator as Tree of Seabird. Tree of Seabird was then being adopted as the name of the forum of Tree of Savior that served as the platform for Tree of Seabird.

Tree of Seabird is also known as Tree of Forum (ToF), Tree of Seabear, Tree of Sabire, Tree of Seibier, Tree of Sabair, Tree of Seiver.

Game Systems

Tree of Seabird allows creation of only one character per account. The character is highly customisable especially in terms of appearance and class selection. The players can have custom avatar and can select any class. By combining those two points, you can be anyone.

In ToSb, the player’s activity and behaviors decides their class. Although the players cannot choose a class themselves, they are however able to change their behavior to change their class or possibly master multiple classes.

Currently the following unique classes are available and more classes will be added in the future.

Warrior >Magic knight, Crusader, Hero, Blade Master, Warlord
Wizard > Mathematician, Mystic, Sorceress, Enlightener, Angel
Archer > Sniper, Trapper, Cannoneer, Singijeon, Siege Artillery
Acolyte > Church of Greed, Rainbow Apostles, Burning Monastery Monks, Dank Believers, Enforcer Zealots
Thief > Stalker, Assassin, Killer, Phantom, Asura

Game Mechanics

The battles in ToSb involved the use of blocks of text and images as weapon.

Free for All Text Shooting Hell
The most popular mode of ToSb where players shooting pointless texts at each others just for fun and joke. No restriction to the content.

Battle Royale
In Battle Royale mode, the players will have to outwit their opponents through posting attention-drawing posts, logical/scientific facts/articles or battle of words. The winner is determined by the the amounts of replies and likes.

When a post draws alot of attention, it will turn into a Strategic Point, which strategic point control battle may occur.

Strategic Point Control
SPC, also known as Flag Battle, is one of the battle system of ToSb. In SPC battle, the players will sabotage each others by infiltrating enemy teritories and capture strategic points by placing flags on it. When a certain amount of flags are placed on a strategic point, the owner will receive damage and the strategic point will be destroyed. The destruction of a strategic point also marks the flag bearer as the winner.

Due to the fact that SPC favors parties with greater number, it is very prone to abuse. SPC is also known as the battle of the darkside, the battle of the wickiest.

I heard that @LunarRabbit was using unofficial tools (aka forum script), unbalancing players from other classes.
Is this allowed by the ToSb rules?

According to forum terms, there is no restriction on the use of scripts. It is legal as long the script doesnt steal private information.

This game is fxxked. Numbers are declining rapidly, we don’t have NEAR the content that kToSb gets (WTF IMC WHERE IS OUR PATCH). Have to refresh constantly instead of it updating automatically. Constant spam with unread messages. No cash shop. Cheaters rarely if ever get banned. GM’s don’t care. Worst game on any browser platform ever. But I am going to hang around and complain about it for the next few years just to let everyone know how displeased I am instead of moving on.

Can I get leeched to max level in this text-based game? I’m tired of engaging in text battle to earn exp. I’ve already wrote the script as suggested by @VacaOverpower so I don’t need to roll a ToSb Necromancer to leech AFK from other’s battles.

Not sure about leech…

Regarding level, it is based on amount of likes received. I think Haukinyau1 is probably the only one who has reached level cap in the whole server and without cheating or afk grind.

I’ll just have fun in the game. Can I roleplay a tree so everyone tries to help or ignore me instead of fighting?

You forgot the Staff class and GM_Ticketbot people.

Then the mysterious like @Manager_4 whose more than likely “Mr.No” the final boss and Korean overlord of seabirds.

I wrote slightly about that in the pros and cons of ToSb but decided not to put it up for now because staff yuri is definitely going to assassinate this thread.

  • Instanced based battle royale.
  • Players may join or leave a battle anytime without penalty.
  • Character highly customisable. You can be anyone.
  • No class or rank limit
  • Almost 100% server uptime

Cons

  • Inflexible class selection
  • Infested by bots like staffs
  • Dungeon boss
  • Grindy
  • Lack of premium features
  • The battle duration is very random and may take a very long time, or possibly forever.
  • The final boss K is invincible

Not sure. I’d say this game will be totally free or fund by ads.

Ninja closing thread is one big issue and I believe that was due to the ninja staff is acting like a human.

PVP in ToSB is clearly unbalanced but thats a feature. A game is balanced if everyone play the same class and use same equipment and stats. Sounds better than an unbalanced game but do you think that will be fun? I’d prefer an unbalanced game where people can choose different options. About the popular demand part, well SPC is like the hardcore mode of ToSB. Only those no life elites will participate in SPC. I dont like SPC to be honest. In Microsoft hotmail, flagging a mail will pin the mail to the top. In ToSB, flagging a post will kill the other player…too bloody :frowning:

I think hkkim is sort of an invincible Event boss. He wont spawn when there isnt any special event.
