Tree Of Savior Review (Level 280), TL;DR Trash game

So much variety that you check mobs by entering their color.

Blue, green … red… brown… orange…

I’m sorry but when you have a game with more than 100 maps, and more than 3-4 different monsters per map, you can’t have a different skin for every monster in the game, or you need the same budget than a Blizzard game.
But still, there is a very good variety in my eyes, in comparaison with a lot of games where it was the same re-use with different colours, but with 30 different skins instead of 150-200.
Some skins are used multiple times for sure, but I have seen much much worse…

I, I… sorry, I can only like this

Well this may be a butt hurt child throwing a tantrum, but hes not wrong.

Many of the points he listed are issue that need work, but most of us knew that before early access anyway.

In my mind this game has more like 10 maps, that might be because they are all uninteresting except those few you can actually play on.

I would rather have 25 maps that are good in terms of density, variety and difficulty than 1000 maps I can only use 5% of. It is wasting 95% of the maps/work.

The main problem about maps in general is the lack of monsters density. Some maps are almost empty… I don’t get why they don’t boost the mob respawn in the plenty of maps where nobody never grind (only good for quests).
I don’t get why you don’t have more maps like dina bee farm, so people would stop to all farm in the same map for 15 lvl, and spare a little bit more.

Here you go. And anyone else who hasn’t seen this thus far. Rev up the support!

Earth Tower has no challenge huh. Okay

abcdefghijklmnopqrs

Does it matter how many games someone has played to enjoy something? I mean I can understand that you’ve played plenty of video games and probably consider yourself an expert or connoisseur but the fact that it’s a casual game doesn’t detract from how fun it is. Why not stick to your own niche while letting others enjoy theirs?

This game reminds me a lot of Ragnarok Online, MapleStory, and DarkEden but I would never expect it to be the same exact game as those. It is its own game so let it be that way.

That being said, the game is still very much an open beta despite being Early Access so you can’t expect it to be a flawless AAA game right off the bat.

That shows enormous effort in map and monster design, but game balance and design are still sorely lacking. Especially, when you consider the fundamental aspects of a game (UI, economy, optimization, etc. ) have glaring issues to be addressed.

Let’s be honest, even Kerning City PQ from Maple Story requires more thinking than most of the dungeons in ToS. Here you simply group up, kill mobs till the boss, kill the boss, finish dungeon.

Earth Tower is more of finding the best party compositions so that you can kill the mobs before the timer expires.

I love the game and I think it has great potential, but right now it’s nowhere near polished.

Im agree with OP . With start of f2p game is die , cose tons of bots and goldsellers .
Optimization ? no
Challenging gameplay ? no

This hurts this really hurts.I can barely see any flawless AAA game titles that has been created recently.

Edit:
Outside of Witcher 3 . . . .

Get to 280 figures out just how boring it is to play, archer. Follows to qq on the forums about the game.

  1. Lawl compare to day 1, i barely see any bots in comparison
  2. Please do describe how is it casual to need at least 200+ hours of gameplay to reach 280?
  3. Not going to bother get into this one
  4. Mechanics are not good enough or challenging enough, yea oki sure sure, im a rainbow pooping unicorn.

Have to agree with OP, that is indeed current state of the game. But, it doesn’t mean it will not get better.
I just hope they add something interesting as WOE, to draw interest of more casuals.

That’s because they fixed the payment exploit. Now, on f2p release that won’t matter.

I’m surprised how many people acted in such a bad way to OP’s honest post.

One thing i noticed, almost all negative posts have an otaku-related avatar image. A coincidence i think not.

Video of you beating Earth tower please.

What makes you think bot wont be reported when there is ■■■■ ton more players around to see them?

So far im cool with the speed they are getting banned

I kinda agree on some of the thread starters point of view on the game. However, reaching 280 and hating the game is the weirdest thing i have ever heard/seen in this forums. Much worse on the whine thread and sh!ttiest suggestions.

Just because its an honest post doesn’t mean people will love it. It depends on the content of is post.

I can’t hate the thread starter. I kinda pity him. It’s like wasting his time on the game that he will hate. Have you seen a person that was dump by a girl in front of you? Im like “awwwwww, that svcks”. Then chuckles after.

Lel. Welp, i am still enoying this game with my friends and the weird players i met. =))))

Typical white knight response right here. Yeah sure the game has redeeming qualities, but it’s not like OP is wrong, it’s a bit over the top on the negative scale but this game does just about everything worse than 99% of other MMOs. Also a player shouldn’t have to provide solutions to problems, it’s cool if they can sure, but that doesn’t make a complaint any less valid. It’s the game designer’s job to fix the problems and make this stuff right, and player feedback in aggregate should dictate their focus and provide a barometer for success. As I said, plenty of other MMOs got this stuff right, and while things like gold sellers exist everywhere, you cannot deny that this game has been plagued far worse than most. The art style and RO nostalgia is starting to wear thin, it can only cary this for so long.
