Tree of Savior Forum

Tree of savior 3rd closed beta starts 7/30

Woah there!

Truth is, IMC does relay information to us, however it’s not done so much through these forums.

Almost weekly the github page is updated, and anything new that we should know is posted there:

There isn’t too much to say, other then “English files are being translated” or “We’d like to hear more from you on X or Y”.

My only gripe is that some similar type of news should be given to the community here, but also understand that even though they announced a KR CBT very recently, that was during KST time.

If any announcements are to be made on our version, they’d more than likely do it at a later time, as they’ve seemed to be doing with forum maintenances/announcements.

That and, I’m sure their busy trying to get all their CBT’s up and running (KR CBT/Indo CBT/iCBT)

this CBT is done by Nexon. You should differ between the Developers and the Publishers.

Even when IMCGames is going to self-publish the international version, Nexon decides about the South Korean CBTs.
so please don’t blame IMCGames for Nexons decisions, that’s not a nice move.

Kind regards
Gardosen

Whoever uploads videos and write analysis, I’ll enjoy it. I just want to see things working better.

I had to double-check because you know…recently… :triumph:

Since it’s 3rd CBT, I’d like to see big improvements this time to the point risking something bigger like an iCBT or even OBT.

It seems they moved a few skills around, for example swordman seems to have pain barrier now, barbarian only get access to frenzy at rank 2, sapper got a new skills.

What the hell? Nexon is all of a sudden the one developing the game? Nexon is a publisher, they advertise the game, provide structure and receive payment for that. Can’t see any sense in that sentence so moving on.

@Flash My point is that with most of the western developers it’s so simple. They go to their Facebook pages and say that something will happen when they have sure it will happen, if they don’t they say it will take sometime.

With IMC is so more confusing with things happening everywhere like: “Hey look we are on steam” Hun? “Hey we have github announcments” Github wtf? “ICBT could be next”… “Just kidding it’s KR CBT 3 haha” Got trolled lol.

In general they seem to be a bit lost with this “publish a game by their own” situation. It’s a first for them so I think it can’t be helped, but it’s still frustrating.

I’m not standing on IMC’s side in this matter.
This is a rage from fan, and it is necessary, for them to realize what’s bad and how much the fans want ToS.

Actually I don’t really care if the game take like 2 years to come out. I mean I want to play it of course, but if 2 years is what it takes to be completed then let it be.

I’m just mad with how they relay information.

What good will it do to badmouth IMC in this situation.

IMC is letting the fans translate the game. (They wouldn’t do that if they weren’t planning for something international). I’m not sure if they even promised us that there will be an iCBT before the 3rd Korean CBT. Ifso they should have stated the matter why they changed this. But still keeping the crowd updated with the developing process is hard. Only thing they can say is: “We’re busy developping and by typing this message we lost some time again”.

They are not making any announcements at this time because they don’t know for sure that they can keep their promisses. I also like to play this game rather today then tomorrow, but badmouthing them won’t help this game getting on the market any faster.

If i compare IMC to other developpers i still think they are fusing better with the community then others. They ask for the opinions of the community, they let the community translate the game, they even held a Focus Interview Group from beta testers. In stead of just trying to make a cash cow game they are trying to adjust the game to the wishes of the community / testers.

And remember, nobody is perfect. More information helps, but the information needs to be solid, and at this time, i’m not sure they can give solid information for the international server. My guess is that they are working on a Steam version, when those problems are fixed we’ll be sure to see more information.

The Publisher is not only advertising the game, you should inform yourself what a Publishers role is.

a Publisher provides a GM Support, QA, Marketing, Production, Product Owner, Sales Coordinators.
They decide about what’s going to happen, what’s the prices, what will be released to the users. ImcGames is just Developing the game and in this case, is self-publishing it in the western market (which is still a mistake in my eyes)

what will be released to the users[/quote]

Nope. The game is IMC creation and they have their name on the line, there’s no company that would sign a contract forcing them to release a incomplete piece of crap if the publisher says so.

Hey look, that’s just what providing structure and assure that you are being paid for that means. Wow, well informed people are so amazing, they can just relay the same piece of information with completely different words, awesome.

For 2° beta i bought a nexon kr account but on the apply form for the beta they where asking again for the godamn number for a sms confirm so i gave up. I hope this time around they dont ask for it so i can finally play. Waiting for the game since 2013 and still no international beta…

If this was truly the case, we’d have less crappy games

Let’s take ArcheAge for example, since it’s the easiest flop I could think of. Trion (the publisher) can (based on their contract) set hard deadlines for testing phases and a release. No publisher, or very few publishers will publish a game without being given a time frame for release. Trion rushed ArcheAge and so many exploits, bad content, slow content updates, etc all happened.

The Chinese version of AA is not released yet because they decided to have a much longer release and test schedule, as decided by the publisher.

@Flash So let me just change that a bit. Yes there are companies who would do that, I just don’t think IMC is one of those. This thing has been in development for what, 8 years? I do believe they want to have some control over their creation, which is one of the reasons for them to self publish it in the west. That’s a bit OOT though.

Still, having some more communication would be healthy. If what stopped them to do an international closed beta is a lack of english translations, it would be good knowing that therein lies the issue.

Cool so Hakkyu Kim is a liar, good to know.

“We haven’t decided the exact date for the International Test, but we think it will be after CBT2 in Korea.”

It’s still after KR CBT 2?

You get the point Fate, Any point of time from april 26th to infinity is after CBT2.

“After CBT2” doesn’t imply that there wont be any events between CBT2 and IOBT

Yes exactly, so that doesn’t make him a liar.

Also he said they were thinking about it.

Nothing is set in the stone.

Common sense would dictate that if CBT3 was planned to be before it would be said CBT3.
