Tree Of Maintenance - Why is it so inconsistent?

Ok now hold up before you start flaming away. I understand that last nights maintenance was an emergency hotfix, and I understand that poor planning on IMC’s end is the reason we’ve had 2x 24 hour maintenance’s. I get this. There are things that I don’t get though.

  1. Why does maintenance time keep jumping around? Seemingly its always tuesday, which is great - but we’ve had it at 4AM EST, 3AM EST, and now 1AM EST. Why can’t they keep a consistent time?

  2. Why does maintenance happen at such an inconvenient time anyways? Orsha & Klai are "global’ servers, but are basically the north america servers - why not take them down for maintenance when NA folks are all asleep?

Just asking for some consistency here, and also a more appropriate time slot.

  1. Regular maintenance time is 1AM EDT on Tuesdays, The other times it was for random other things.

  2. The time is where, from I heard the Koreans work, but also it’s 1AM on the East Coast of US where the servers are located, most of the day working midwest and east are asleep at that time.

You maybe could argue something like, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Coast_bias

But idk.

The North American continent is divided into seven time zones, spanning 6½ hours from Alaska to Newfoundland. Most of the continent’s population (including all of the major professional sports teams) is concentrated in the four time zones of the contiguous United States and Canada west of the maritimes; this, however, still poses a significant obstacle in that the easternmost sports teams are a full three hours ahead of their western counterparts. For sports that play in prime time according to local time zones (as is the case with hockey, baseball and basketball), this can result in the west coast playing games while the East is sleeping and after printing deadlines for the next day’s newspapers have passed. Gennaro Filice of SI.com wrote that Major League Baseball’s West Coast night games are ending as “the country’s most influential scribes are catching Z after Z.”[1] John Buccigross of ESPN notes that a lot of people in the East are asleep when National Hockey League’s West night games are going on, resulting in lower television ratings for those West Coast games, which contributes to the lack of national broadcasts of West games.[5]

I don’t think they are complaining about it as much as they are just wanting information about what’s going on. Just because someone asking questions doesn’t mean they complain.

It´s really annoying, like for people in hawaii the maintenance starts at 7PM. Someone gotta lose when we have maintaneces, in this case it is everyone that isn’t on EST.
