Tree of hardcore grindfest

I think the grind is fine, maybe 2x rate will improve the game experience a bit - from a current iRO player

ā€œGrind Of Saviorā€?.. (Turn Down For What!)

As opposed to what? Questing? I fail to see how questing is any better.

Personally I’d rather decide the place and enemies I’m killing than have an NPC decide for me.

Questing is a good gameplay mechanic in MMOs focused on end game, raiding & instanced dungeons. However in a more open game like ToS, with weapon and elemental systems, that isn’t really focused on end game, I feel like grinding is superior.

Guess you cant really read too well, since that isnt at all what I meant. I wasnt calling someone casual because they dont like grinding, I was saying someone who CASUALLY plays the game wouldnt enjoy the level of grind that is in this game since they wouldnt be able to make as much progress. Hell, all mmos have some form of grinding in them, whether its grinding out quests, grinding out mobs, grinding out pvp currency, grinding out dailies, grinding out collection items, and etc, and I am pretty sure there are alot of casual players that play MMOs…so how did you even come to that conclusion that I was saying casuals dont like grinding?

Themepark questing is lazy and boring to me, especially when alot of the time they are basic mundane quests with a slapped together couple of sentences worth of random backstory that has no relevance to the lore and atmosphere of the game, and are there to keep you on track cause they think we are too stupid to handle branching out and exploring the world on our own, but hey, thats my opinion, just the same as you have yours. Neither of ours are fact though, so try to refrain from talking as if the thing you enjoy doing is superior.

ā€œfairly large player basesā€ unless you can find me 100k-200k active players, i call bs. 10k-20k for an mmorpg? thats a small amount of players.

Edit: Keep in mind I played RO for 10 years, and one of the worse things ro had was its exponential exp curve at higher levels. Its not based on ā€œskillā€ when you have an exp requirement so high people will take 1 year to get to. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game, I want the game to take 6 months(maybe less, depending on the time you spent on it) to reach level 600, not 2 years as its like now.

Ragnarok has 1-5k people per server add all the private servers i bet you it will break your 200k easy.

Yes. This. I agree.

There’s no need for all these fancy suggestions when the main complaint is the lower exp gains from monsters resulting in hours of grinding early game.

Raise the amount of exp gained and everyone will shut up. (I hope).

That’s because you don’t understand how it actually took place and how fun it was. You would basically have massive raids expying together for weeks, friendships stronger than just …oh he is in my guild.

kCBT rates are INCREASED FOR TESTING and are NOT the regular rates, iCBT rates are x1 until they raise it for testing as well.

The exp rate is fine. Really don’t get why people want to play a MMORPG and just blow right past everything gaining 10 levels per hour. I will not be disappointed if they raise the exp rate a little bit eventually, but if the raise too much that will only make the game worse.

I seriously hope you don’t know about advancing your Class Rank.

Just because you solidly believe in one side of the argument doesn’t mean the community has ā€œmade its pointā€ or have you been ignoring all the posts against increasing rates just like that?

i dont care anymore, if things remain like this in OB i’ll play another game lel
grind isnt bad, sure BUT hardcore grind is just Korean tradition crap

The low exp rate is good. I don’t want this to be some easy grind to max level. Max level should take years to reach.

Then you realize how many characters some people would like to try and enjoy, and then you realize it’d take a lifetime. Stop being delusional.

Only the visual is ragnarok. Some of the classes are really basic so it isn’t really from RO. Please, do we get cards from regular mobs it’s only boss, durability, warping, many others that is not even worth mentioning cause its obvious. Yes, spiritual successor, but at the same time no. This game has a different vibe to it. And I played RO like the lot of you, but really, HOW IS IT EVEN JUSTIFIED?! Read the damn wiki based, the only reason this looks like RO to you is because of the designers. XD

10 levels per hour!!! You know the current exp is 1 level per hour. Make it to 2x exp rate, and we’re set.
Who even wants a 10 levels per hour? We just want a Kcbt exp rate.

Those who complain about the players that want the rates to be changed so you can cap in a week are former RO players who want this game to be RO.

Yet, you also accuse them of wanting to change the game to be something else when you assume that this game is something else entirely, that being RO.

They don’t want to hit the cap in a week. That’s not their arguing point. They merely want to lighten the grind just a tad and find a proper middle ground, not throw the grind out the window like you think they want.

IMO, they could increase the rates in the CBT so we could test more things.

Im reporting every bug i found in the game, but today im stuck at Chapel B1 grinding my way to Lv40.
