99/50 x 3 , you’re forgetting 2 reborns.
1 hour isn’t so bad in a grand scheme of things. Back In Ro getting last level on a Rebirth could take even a month if you had bad luck.
Lets just compare leveling on RO from 98-99 to leveling on ToS from 25-26(need around 20k exp iirc).
On RO you needed 100M to go from 98-99(it was like 99,999,998 or something). And lets take stings as an example here, who gave 4k base exp. Thats 25k stings to get from 98-99
On ToS: I’m on the map where you fight the scorpion(forgot name), recommended level is 32 iirc. I’m level 25 and each mob gives me 50-74 exp. So i need to kill 400 mobs(which take longer to kill than 1 sting would take to a wiz/hunter/bow rogue/bard). Scale those 400 mobs to level 100/600. The amount of ■■■■ you’ll need to kill will be around 1M or something lol. Also you get almost one shotted by ghost’s ice bolt.
Level 100 to 101 would take longer than going to 99/50 2 times. How is this good if the max level is 500?
Stings were pretty easy to farm. I don’t think you’re making a good comparison. They were 1 shot or 2 shot by wiz for example.
What I read from your comment is “exp-ing is pretty normal”. Tho I have no experience I can only trust your judgement.
I agree, everything is great about this game except the grindfest early on.

Idk maybe this would reward those who are willing to farm over those who sit in town chatting and expect easy levels?
Not sure, however you do have a point, the bar could be raised to around 300ish lvl right?
It’s a game, the purpose of playing games is to have fun. Many people do not feel the current xp rates are fun.

What are you talking about? rebirth 1 month? Depends on what time of rebirth. At the beginning when u only had anubises and ■■■■? Yeah it sucked. Then you got abbyss lake/rachel/THOR. And it became way easier. A Kasa gives 49k exp, you need 330 from 98-99 rebirth iirc. Thats less than 10k kasas.

Edward if you tried to get to level 200 in the current beta it would take around 2 years if you play the game for 4 hours every day. That would mean that people see only 1/3 of the game after 2 years.
To reach the end game it would take about 6-10 years. That’s just crazy and the game will die before anyone saw the whole game.

Eh my point is that the last level of pre trans RO wasnt hard. You said it urself, killing stings was easy and you could kill 25000 in a bit of time. Prolly 1-2k/h with a hunter. It takes me 1-2 hours to kill 400 mobs here.
Hm? Maybe there’s more areas you can farm in further into the game.
Only to Wiz , wiz was pretty OP when it came to leveling along with Priest.
Eh pretty much u could double strafe those shits to death. I’d expect from 1-98 you’d have enough money to buy a good amount of grape juices/make ur own grape juice.
People in the kcbt get 48 times more exp after they got to level 180.
Killing 10 monsters gives them around 0.2-0.3%
Do you really want to kill 2 million monsters every level before level 200?

Assuming you had a burning bow otherwise it was pretty painful.
I don’t really see a problem with that since everyone else IS going to have the same challange. As long as you get to experience entire game content within those 200 lvls.
It’s a kindoff annoying unwritten rule that “you need to max out” levels in a game and games are design in sucha way.
Does it have to be that way tho?

Yeah sure, and we make a generic mmo… Quest based, same mobs with different colors, and costumes with stats, xp potions, atk potions, 0 end game content, pvp for those who pay 3000 dollars per month. No THANKS.
The max level is level 500
You get to see about 1/3 of the games content with level 200
You see 1/3 of the game while leveling only 1 character after 2-3 years
That didn’t even happen in RO . This is more grindy than the old Maple Story.
