Tree of hardcore grindfest

I never said that ToS is a remake or that ToS is an old game, why are you trying to lay words into my mouth that I never even considered taking in? But other people always, no matter when compare it with RO like “But back in RO you had to…” or “In RO you couldn’t…”. And that is what I mean with dwindling in the past.
The only thing I said is that ToS can’t put such a heavy grind like the “old games” anymore. You can’t do that TODAY anymore. If ToS would have gotten out ~10 years ago then they would have surely been able to do that without any big consequences. But if you look at how much competition there is on this gaming market. You can’t expect someone to level one character their entire life long just to realize near the end that this character isn’t what they wanted. After they realized that and have seen just how long they needed to properly gear and level that character the thought of a new character would just scare them away and they’d look for another game. That is how it works today.

You did accuse ToS of being copy of Ro on those exact terms. You can have this kind of grind, there is nothing stopping anyone from doing so .

Full circle has been made , as I said before the conversation no longer has any intellectual value.

Then quote where I said that ToS is a RO copy.
As far as I know I only said that if somebody wants to play RO clone or copy or something like RO they should play RO instead and let others, who want to play ToS play ToS. Nowhere would that indicate that I called ToS a RO clone.

It’s the implied tone of your entire argument.

“Change the grind otherwise it’s kRo again”.
You went on old game hate campaign to push this agenda now you deny it?

Do you deny it?

You accuse me of not reading well, but exactly WHERE did I say that questing is any better? You both have no comprehension skills. It isn’t opposed to anything; grinding is just bad, period, as is themepark questing, but I didn’t bring that up because I didn’t care for it, thanks for putting words into my mouth. However, Tetzer, I am sorry for misreading what you said, that does not change how I feel about grinding though. Grinding is still a lazy game mechanic, and personally, ruins games for me.

I didn’t lol.
Grinding is just bad, no matter how you see it. It’s lazy and uncreative. It’s basically “I can’t come up with anything, so I’ll just let the players grind for 20 to 50 levels and then they get the next real content, yeah that’s a fantastic idea.”. It does save time, money and resources but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s stupid.
And I also said “Only because grinding worked back in RO doesn’t mean that it will work today.”
I can also not understand how the things I have said would imply what you are trying to interpret from my texts. May you enlighten me on that?

That’s not a factual statement it’s an opinion.
Here have a piece of an opinion.
Grind is just so good and creative . It basically let’s you spread your wings , allows you to become creative in coming up with different leveling methods and strats.
Quests shove you down a linear path and forces you to run around like headless chicken from town to town.

“Only because grinding worked back in RO doesn’t mean that it will work today.” - You’ve as much expertise to say if it will or will not work as any other user on this forum. At best you’re having an uneducated guess.
Besides that’s the exact same argument I accused you off put into different words.
Finally You’re treating your opinion as if it’s fact, get real , it’s not.

Lol lol lol. Private servers is a very small portion of the people that played Ragnarok btw. No where near 200m.

Let it die man i have read this whole forum and been a part of it and the only thing i can advise is walking away as dosatron01 gives me the impression of a entitled screaming child that didn’t get the cereal he wanted. Just play and ignore the whiners you cant reason with them.

Your right it is no where near 200m good thing the question was if it was near 200k. Kinda a important difference to read.

I’d say 50 k altogether on private servers is probably more than plenty for such old game.

Lol I love how you replied to yourself haha.

Anyways, again, reading comprehension. I didnt say that YOU personally liked themepark questing, that portion is from what I have gathered from what other people want this game to have, to replace the ‘grinding’ despite the fact that theme park questing is literally still grinding, just in a prettied up package of go kill 1500 rats, and bring me 3000 of their nuts.

Now the last part WAS directed at you, since you had the opinion that ‘grinding’ is lazy and boring, but were stating it as fact, which it is not, and neither was my opinion on the matter of theme park questing. MMOs at this current point in time, rely on SOME form of grinding, so at the moment all devs currently do is just try to mask the grind, and make you FEEL as if you arent actually grinding.

With THAT misunderstanding out of the way, what exactly would YOU like to see realistically replace this particular grind with?

I personally believe they will eventually increase the exp gains come launch, but they want us to test the early game area, since the Korean CBTs all had much, much higher exp gains, they were able to hopefully thoroughly test the later areas enough. So now they need us to test the beginning to find that perfect middle ground, and make sure the earlier areas are actually polished up as much as possible, since the beginning area will be peoples first reaction to the game, and that is where a majority of people will judge the game sadly. Again, this is what I believe is the reason for the rates being this low, since it would make since for them to want to extensively test the earlier areas.

Why shouldn’t I be saying that? I am grinding right now and I don’t mind not reaching level 50 within the week, because that’s how the game was setup. If you have a problem with it then play another game.

Seeing max level characters everywhere in a short span of time just kills the game and a lot of MMORPGs have proven that.

it was a type o…and it is no where near 200K…keep dreaming buddy.

So you don’t mind reaching level 50, but you haven’t hit 50 yet within two two days? That’s just proven my point that you’re not into grinding. I have a problem with exp rate this low. Bro, did you even get a an extra key??? That’s rather silly, “if you don’t like it then don’t play the game”. There is another guy who mentioned that, and that’s really dumb. What if we want the game to appeal not only for the grinders, but to casual players? I’m just going to say this game will rot after its release if they’re going to stick with the exp rate, it’ll turn down a lot of new players. I love it so far, I love grinding, but I got a hunch this game won’t appeal to many players. Probably will only have 15k fans.

please, i didnt need to grind only until 28 lol

Dude you get on my nerves LOL. It takes 2-3 days for people to get to 80-90. It took me 2 days casually playing to get to 35. Thats a ■■■■■■■ lot

Lol. I got to 40 in 2 days casually playing. Thats easy as ■■■■

Yeah, non-stop grinding took me 40-50 levels in 2 days. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bro, do you even calculate? 2 days and you’re still at 35…so wtf ?? .-. LOL
