Tree of Dreaming: Some ideas for Double Weapon Assault

Just gave some thought on how it can be improved but not necessarily a proper suggestion. just some random ideas:

  • DWA allows equipping 1H swords, 1H spears, Blunt (mace), daggers and rapiers in both hands.
  • When dual wielding 2 weapons, an atk speed multiplier will be applied based on the type of weapon being used. I.e. dual-wielding daggers will attack much faster than dual-wielding any other weapon.
  • When dual wielding 2 weapons of the same type, certain skills will be improved:

***** All Weapon types *****
Swordsman

  1. Thrust > Double Thrust. Activates continuous attack at 100% but -50% skill damage. Using it on a bleeding enemy causes Continuous Bleed, that increases bleeding’s duration based on the number of times bleeding gets applied to enemy.

Doppelsoeldner

  1. Cyclone > Twister. Doubles AOE range and AOE attack ratio.
  2. Punish > Double Punishment. Doubles skill damage.

***** 2 1H-Swords *****
Swordsman

  1. Bash > Smash. Enemies become crippled (-25% atk and mov spd for 5 secs)
  2. Double Slash > Triple Slash. performs Double Slash and a special cross slash (165% of skill dmg) on the 3rd slash that causes bleeding.

***** 2 1H-Spears *****
Hoplite

  1. Stabbing > Improved Stabbing. Attacks twice as many times at +50% speed, -33% damage for the same duration.
  2. Long Stride > Diving Stride. Causes knockback and slow.
  3. Spear Throw. Doesn’t require picking up of the spear that was thrown and removes the need to. This also removes the negative of throwing a spear.

Catapharact

  1. Impaler. Allows you to impale an additional enemy.
  2. Earth Wave > Gravity Wave. Doubles AOE attack ratio. Enemies become crippled (-25% atk and mov spd for 10 secs).
  3. Rush. Gains Untouchable attribute. immune to all missile attacks, reduces all physical and magical attacks by 30%.

Dragoon

  1. Serpentine > Improved Serpentine. Attacks twice as many times at +50% speed, -33% damage for the same duration.
  2. Gae Bulg. Reduces Cooldown by half.
  3. Dragon Soar > Dragon’s Vacuum. Sends enemies flying into the air for a period of time and reduces all defenses to 0. Allows you to continue attacking enemies while enemies float.

***** 2 1H- Rapiers *****
Fencer

  1. All piercing and slashing skills gains an additional hit but this hit does only 50% of skill damage.
  2. Flanconnade > True Flanconnade. Doubles animation speed. Easier to protect yourself from enemy attacks. And also, now the skill’s icon showing 2 rapiers makes a lot more sense!

***** 2 Daggers *****
Shinobi

  1. Bunshin no Jutsu. Clones now will attack with DWA.
  2. Mokuton no Jutsu. Throws Dagger at enemy in the air from above, causing enemy to bleed, cripple and receives 50% more damage from Mokuton no Jutsu’s attack. cripple effect goes into effect after Bind finishes. Will auto-pick up thrown dagger upon landing after hitting enemy.
  3. Katon no Jutsu. Instantly throws a dagger attached with a ninjutsu bomb at an enemy but with -50% skill damage. Un-evadable. Attack range x4. Enemy becomes blind and crippled. Reduces cooldown to 10 seconds. Pick up thrown dagger to reduce cooldown by 3 seconds.

… too much buff IMO just remove the need of using offhand while attacking just make it auto and remove the stamina drain you’re a dual wielding class and yet you get tired from dual wielding? Rofl additional attributes say aspd and added dmg and bleed chance should be enuf to buff the skill because dwa is the main reason to go for corsair c2 well hexen dropper is good and all but dual wielding prowess is what we aim for… well dont you?

give it +40% atk per level like running shot, and i will be happy even with the stamina drain.

No better remove the stamina drain, you’re on melee range once u run out of stamina while attacking and suddenly the boss uses a deadly skill you think you can walk you’re way out of it? This isnt about comparing to archer class dmg its about getting ease of use and better damage scaling

use the pill -.-
why do you even attack until 0 stamina.
I usually leave my stamina at ~15ish if the pill on cd.
better get the +400% attack damage with 2 stamina each use.

Yes pill is the key such a great mechanic to sink your small income from jolly roger, anyways I doubt that kind of dmg your asking for would be accepted as an idea its too high you’ll almost match the main dps class’s dmg which is too much maybe 5% with an incrementing effect say +3 or 2% each level with additional aspd attribute

if 80silver can sink your income already, i have nothing to say.

Just remoooove stamina drain. I’m happy.

I’m not a corsair but the main bad thing about dual weapon assault is the stamina drain and is why I didn’t go corsair 3.

It would be 1 less thing to worry about without the stamina drain but some are making a mountain out of a molehill.

By the time you’re able to use DWA you should be rocking Roxona Plate Boots and have max plate mastery. This will give you 60+ stamina which is more than enough to last until your skills or pills are off CD. If you’re leveling then most maps have so many crystals that you won’t even know what to do with all that stamina. The amount of silver required for this is quite small at that level so get farming if it happens to be an issue for you.

What we need is a damage buff of some sort. Maybe an attribute that acts kinda like Frenzy, where you build stacks and each stack will provide 10% additional damage with DWA up to a max of 10 stacks. Seems fair since we’re comparing a rank 4 skill to a rank 6 so it should provide a bigger boost, plus to keep Frenzy relevant this buff will only work with DWA.
