why cant gms come? would be better if a gm
will come if we press report bot and they can send the bot to a prison map…are they understaffed? give rewards to players who first reported and disable the feature for at least a day to those who give false reports…was doable in previous games i played…
Then people would ultimately just report people they don’t like and dampen their experience. Worst part is that it’d be acceptable and people would rage about their low levels getting reported and kicked down there.
Their plan failed, but this is objectively worse. You should never give the player that type of power, because there are people who’ll make it so we can’t have nice things.
Also having a job kicking bots is also pretty crappy idea. While the GMs could definitely kick the bots off, that implies they’d get in every map in every channel to do so…that’s really wasteful of time plus manpower that actually could be better put into progressing the game or figuring out a method of. They're barely even in game as a plus.
I’d like it if they thought of some sort of natural game mechanic to discourage botting, but it’d also hinder the Addon crowds as well. I sometimes wish they allowed us to buy Red Monster Orbs so we can set it down, but that may also hinder other players who foolishly attack something they shouldn’t.

Also I absolutely agree that giving players any kind of “power” is a terribly bad idea. I mean have people not seen the kind of people who are on these forums? You want to give power to them? No thanks lol.

calling a gm just to verify if a player is botting or not…gm can send a message…if the player does not rply then he will be jailed…not so much of a power to me…gm accounts are supposed to work this way…was implemented on a game i once played an botting was never as bad as this…

For some reason this post makes me think of how bots will be when VR gets bigger and they make mmos for VR… Will probably happen within 10 years i think. I wonder if the bots will look like mindless drones or they will advance enough to mimic real people.
…not sure why i thought of that since vr wasnt mentioned at all…
As long as it’s open world PvP. I’ve dreamed of a day when I can physically punch a bot in the face.

Too bad i didnt see this yday, was at istoria ruins (or w/e its spelled), the ET map, on fedimian and reported 3 chaplain bot (dffff and name like that).
If i had see this i would have screnshotted the ■■■■ out of them just for the sake of shutting him up.
Sorry, didnt care to take screenshots of the 3 chaplain bot that were “farming” on istoria ruins, fedimian, yday, i did report them tho.
Still maybe trying to be in game instead of random ■■■■ on forum whoul help, dont you think?

I do not support botting at all but i have to call you out on nexon and other companies doing a better job. I’ve been gaming for 17 years now i’ve played around 20 MMO’s in that 17 years. Plus some games that aren’t “MMO’s” but do have online capabilities. Like Diablo 2/Diablo 3 FPS games co op games etc. (some considerably less time than others). I also spent around 3 years playing Maplestory (Made by Nexon) and i know for a fact that what you said is 100% false. Maplestory was plagued by botters and hackers before GMS was even released back in 2006. I started in 2007 on a fresh server and day 1 i ran into about 10 botters the day i played. I remember making fun of them with a friend and reporting them. Also played lotro. ALOT less botters in that game that any game ive EVER played. GW2 had botters from day 1.
When you get right down to it regardless how good a dev team is or how much effort they do or do not put into the game there are more people out there who have the time to create cheats and 3rd party programs than there are people on the payroll. There are insane amounts of gold farming companies and those companies make their money by using bots/dupes/and other hacks in games to get stuff faster. Then sell it to people who are lazy. There is never going to be an MMO that has no botters/hackers. Plain and simple you need to accept that. Think of it like this. FBI CIA CNN and even government security aka best of the best was hacked by Anonymous. How? Because their combined experience and talent was considerably higher than the people paid to prevent hackers.
No im not saying accept hackers as they are and go on. I’m saying stop talking nonsense and having incredibly unrealistic expectations. If you do not want hackers or botters in any game then you shouldn’t play games period. Not even in IRL. There are “cheaters” in absolutely every game. From basic card games, board games, video games, all the way to casino games. It’s considerably harder to cheat in casino’s than anywhere else and people still do it each and every day all over the world while people are watching them with incredibly sophisticated tech at all times.
TL:DR Don’t lie and claim other game companies have less hackers google can prove your wrong in less than 10 seconds. Don’t have unrealistically high expectations. Cheaters are everywhere. Real world and otherwise. They have been for thousands of years. Dont have to allow them to run rampant but you have to accept that they will continue to exist regardless what you or anyone else does.
