Trading Concept (Questions)

Hi guys, i’ve been searching for a comprehensive answers or even guides, as to how ToS trading works. Unfortunately, the help post in game (F10) and most of the forum posts were outdated (nearest was April post) and the answers werent clear. Hence, I’ve attached below a list of specific questions which i hope someone could shed their experience on:

  1. What are the trade limitations as f2p players? Frequency of trades? Trades limitation and trades interaction between players and auction house?
How do i find the details in game/on screen?
  2. What is the connection between items/equipments/weapons potential and trading? How does it works?
  3. How does TP relates to 1) and 2)?
  4. Can I transfer items between alt accounts? I’m quite perculiar on this, as what I’ve briefly understood was ToS included trade restrictions for the same item between accounts. But I’m confused how does this exactly works.

Yes, I’ve done that…but the answers weren’t clear…as stated in the post. Would be great if you could link that post, perhaps I’ve missed out.

I’ve included additional questions.

To be honest IMC has made the whole system so complicated that even old players like me will still have some trouble understanding it completely.

Here are my answers for your questions, please someone correct me if I made any mistakes:

When you trade stuff that have potential, the potential will decrease by 1 per trade. When you buy those items from market, they will also lose 1 potential. Items with 0 potential cannot be traded (but you can still transfer them to your same account characters through team storage).

When you buy items that don’t have potential from market, they will become untradeable (so talts, recipes, and everything else becomes untradeable). You can buy a recipe, craft the item, and then have a tradeable full potential item with you.

If you (no token) trade with someone with a token the item will become untradeable regardless of potential. You (no token) cannot trade with someone that doesn’t have a token. If you trade a item that doesn’t have potential, it will become untradeable regardless of token trades. Two token users with remaining trades can trade potential gear between themselves without making the gear become untradeable and only lose 1 potential.

Certain tokens have trade amounts (while others don’t), when you trade, you get decreased of your remaining trade amounts. When you reach zero trade amount your trades count as if you were no-token user. To check how many “VIP” trades you have remaining you can hover your mouse over the token buff and read the tooltip.

Potential is used for refining items (when it fails it loses one potential), adding sockets, trading and awakening. Only equipments have potential (Armors, Weapons, Jewelry).

You can buy tokens with TP in the TP store (npc in town). Then you’ll have all benefits of token users I described above. You can also buy tokens through the market with silver, but be careful when doing so (because i’ve mentioned some tokens are different than others).

You can transfer items through your own characters (of the same account) without making them lose potential. Non-equippment will also not become untradeable after. But if an item is already untradeable, you cannot transfer it between your own characters. To trade items between same account characters, use the team storage with the storage npc in town. When equipment reaches 0 potential, they don’t get awarded the “untradeable” flag, they just can’t be traded because of lack of potential (which is the reason why you can still trade them through team storage). Team storage trades do not reduce token trade amounts.

@mrshadowccg

Thanks! This was a complete set of answers I’m looking for.
I couldnt agree with you more on the complexity of the trade systems, which I find it very weird (or perhaps), ineffective the trade restriction mechanism.

On a side note, I’ve messed around with my bro on the trading systems. Both of us are F2P users, and were able to trade repeatedly with each other on different items, but subject to non-tradeable ruling between non-token users, i.e. after the trade, the potential drops by 1, and it becomes no longer tradeable, although the remaining potential was 6/7 (out of 7).
