TOS with Generic Gamepad

Hello, like many I was one of those chosen to play the TOS, but I have great interest to play with a gamepad.
All the people I see on youtube using are with the XBOX360 or PS3 gamepad, but I do not have my wireless receiver XBOX360 gamepad, and researched prices and here in Brazil is just too expensive to buy.

I wonder if this generic USB gamepads usually work just like a XBOX360 or PS3 gamepad.
I know that apparently gives to play with a generic using software to configure keys, but I do not want this, I want to know if it works plug n 'play, just like a X360 gamepad.

Thanks for listening, sorry if my English is kind of weird, I’m pretty intermediary in this language

i using some obscure made in china gamepad, it works fine.

I think any gamepad with direct input support might work fine.

i have a usb snespad, i’m happy to hear that!

If it doesn’t, you can always download a third-party program to map your gamepad to your keyboard and play like that. really simple once you know what each button does.

Same here. I was really surprised it worked perfectly in game.

Generic gamepad is fine. I hooked up my ps3 controller to act as a pc/360 controller everytime i connect it to my computer so im going to just play with that.

You don’t need XBox Controllers, you should be able to buy Logitech Controller at half the price or less. Honestly I don’t know why not many people know it. If it’s still too expensive in your area then I guess try with what you have.

PS. Logitech Controller’s X-Input works the same as Xbox Controller, there is no 3rd party software involved here, they are the same. Plug-and-play.

The f310 is cheap…because just that…its cheap. yeah it feels nice and has a nice weight to it. decent size as well. but the inside of it is ■■■■■■ as some of the wires are usually bent and pinched on the inside since they fold the wires under it can break very easily because of that. The F510 is a step up from that although of course a bit more pricey. the F710 is wireless. I really dont suggest the F310 unless you are on a very tight budget.

EDIT: Source. Owned and tried all 3. only the f310 broke 4x because of wiring

F510 has been discontinued for 3 years, its price has gone very high, do not buy. Contrarily, I’ve been using F710 for 3 years, F310 for 1 year, both are flawless however, I had to switch from F710 to F310 because F710 kept losing signals (maybe due to age,) and even if you put your legs up in front of the controller, the signal is lost. I was shocked how much more light F310 was when I hold it for the first time.

TLDR; both are good choices. I prefer F310 (until Logitech can come up with more stable wireless signal technology.)

i cant wait to try this new controller when the games goes live.

You can buy an F510 just not from the logitech site. honestly. the best controller would be to just get an acutal xbox 360 controller (wired ofc) if u can spring for it. works automatically in windows and most people are familiar with that setup anyway. Otherwise if he has a ps3 controller lying around he can hook that up as well with like…a 2 step process

Never played XBox, always PS. That analog stick mismatch placement just seems odd to me. I can’t imagine anyone who grew up with PS gets used to it. The A/B vs X/O is understandable, the sticks nope.
