ToS STEAM purchase bug?

Has anyone else had a weird bug on STEAM that says you already have the game even though you haven’t even bought it yet? I went to get the founders and it says I already have a copy, and suggested I gift it to a friend. And even on the games product screen a little green box shows up saying is already in my Library…Lol.

I’m afraid to buy it now cause I don’t know if it’s even gonna let me use the purchased pack, or not xD.

The game itself is free, the only thing you need to buy is DLC which is EA pack for founder server.

Yeah, I know the game itself is. It’s just weird that it says it’s already in my Library even though I haven’t purchased or bought anything. Didn’t know if anyone else had STEAM tell them the same thing. I just don’t want to buy the DLC and have them say I can’t apply it or something. >.<

Hi, animeoutlaw. Can you tell me exactly which copy Steam said you already own? Is it one of the Exclusive Access DLC products?

It isn’t. It just says I already have the game in my Library, but when I got into my Library and look for it, there’s nothing there. I can post a screen shot if you’d like where the main page says I already have it, if that helps. In case you guys need to report the bug to them.

I sent a support ticket, but haven’t been given any information as of yet.

If you can provide me with a screenshot of what you see on the store page and your library (with other games and/or info whited-out if necessary), that would be great.

Can you try typing steam://install/372000 on an explorer?

I’m assuming you mean the search function on the computers Start menu? I entered the text, but it can’t find anything. I also entered it in the search function on my Library in STEAM and it yielded no results.

Can you try right clicking the steam icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (near the clock) and see if you have “Tree of Savior” listed? If so, click on it. It should download the game and add it to your library in a “pre-loaded” state.

Sadly, there’s nothing there:

Have you tried this properly? You need to type this in your web browser, like an url, not in any search field.

I did that as well. It just takes me to the product page.

If you use windows use windows key + R and type it in there. This worked for me however I have yet to buy any founder packs. Following this link might be a better idea as it might clear up errors. Refresh Steam Files

Could you open up any random folder and type it in here as shown?:

Just finished trying what you mentioned, but it still says I have a copy of the game in my Library even though I never bought it, and it doesn’t appear in the library still >.<

@Staff_Julie

I did as you said, and it pulled up a window from steam to pre-load the game…its just weird because I never bought any of the packs. Is this something I’m supposed to be able to do even if I haven’t bought a founders pack?

Using Google Chrome:

type it into your normal browser bar where you usually type “treeofsavior.com” etc etc etc like a normalwebsite - then wait 1/2 second but dont click enter yet - youre given 2 choices either to search or to run the site - click the bottom choice cause thats running the site - then youll be ask to start the app (they mean steam with it) choose yes - ToS will then be added into your library properly and downloads (before this you have to agree to the thingy thing etc) - you must have steam on your pc for it to work

yes you can pre load it without buying the founders pack (lets say youre just able to buy them on the 27th for w/e reason but you take 3-4 days to download for w/e reason - then you can pre load it nontheless)

That command allows you to pre-load the game without having purchased a DLC. You just won’t have access to the servers during the early access period.

Ah I see. I don’t remember ever clicking anything to try and download the game, but whatever works. At least now I know I can purchase the founders and not have to worry if the pack will work with the client, or not. My main thing that concerned me was that Steam was telling me I already had a copy of the game when I was going to buy the founders, and said if I had more than one copy I couldn’t apply it more than once. I’m guessing it just recognized that it was hiding somewhere on my computer and says that regardless if you have purchased the pack, or not.

Mystery solved! lol
