Thatâs life. Itâs the better long term approach. Itâs preferable to mass advertising now, tanking 50k new players and dropping a tonne of TP options to monetise them while theyâre playing the game at levels 1-150 then quit.
Better to build player retention, take some time, fix the issues, then launch an âexpansionâ update that adds a new part to the title like âTree of Savior Goldâ so they can relaunch it as a new product without any of the old reviews, generate new interest from streamers, gaming review and news sites, then actually build some momentum.
Thatâs the longterm expectations. We just have to wait. It wonât be quick.
9 years working in marketing, Iâll be extremely surprised if this isnât the path they take at a later date.

Yeah like that, except they close the original chapter entirely and reopen as the new chapter to kill off all previous game reviews and negative press by distinguishing it as a ânewâ game.
Itâs a pretty common tactic these days. Itâs effective and works. But the game needs fixing first and looks at least a few months away from that. My guess is that it was simply forced to launch much earlier than they really wanted to launch. Probably internal budget problems.

I think all this âIMC this. IMC that.â is part of the mistake being made in interpreting actions.
IMC is a company for 40+ individuals with different ethics, different motivations, different opinions, and different skills.
Some of them care. Some of them donât. Some of them are just doing a job. Some of them are trying their best. Some of them are just using it as an ambitious stepping stone.
Theyâre not really one unit.
But to say that theyâre unethical or unprofessional, Iâll have to disagree with. I havenât seen anything lacking ethics, and I havenât seen anyting unprofessional. Iâve seen plenty of problems take longer than they should because theyâre a small company operating under multiple publisher in multiple regions with multiple codebases at different levels in development. Itâs been a learning curve for them Iâm sure. Unprofessional? No. Lacking the resources to handle it all. Yes.
