Hello,
I recently have an issue with ToS when it comes with rubberbanding/lag. I am a noob when it comes to PC gaming so I need some help. Here’s the story.
I first played TOS with a couple years old computer. Windows 7 OS, everything was working fine with the usual shortcomings of an old graphics card. No rubberbanding or lagging here, though.
Then, a couple of days ago, I started to play on a different computer. This one is much more updated than the old one. The specs are i5 6600k, GTX 980, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro. Here the fps is great, as expected, but then there’s rubberbanding/lag issue present here. Here are a 2 of the common symptoms I’m experiencing:
-
I’d walk for some distance and get teleported back a couple of steps before. This is extremely annoying when I’m trying to walk across a map. It feels like I’d have to walk 2x-3x as much distance for a map thanks to this rubberbanding issue. What’s even crazier is that when my Cleric auto attack or use a skill, the attack or the skill would hit the enemy, and THEN I get teleported back. So, doesn’t seems as much of a lag since I’d expect lag to not register the hit at all then teleport back.
-
Skills often don’t activate on the first key pressed. I have to press the skill 2 or even 3 times sometimes to get the skill to activate. What’s even more annoying is that after the 1st key press, my character would do the animation for the skill, but nothing happens after that. That’s when I have to spam the skill button again hoping for it to activate.
I thought it could be my internet connection, but then I tried FFXIV on PC and it works fine. I also tried ToS on my couple years old laptop, also Windows 7, and it also works fine. So I don’t think it’s my internet or the game’s server. This means, it’s something with the settings of the updated computer or something and I have no idea what to do.
If anybody could have some insight or solution for this, it would be great. Thanks so much for reading.
Happy Mother’s Day!!
