ToS Forum Turns Background Black

Wellp this is how it goes.

Whenever I open a youtube link in another tab, the forum background turns black. The color reverts back to white when I scroll up or down and I highlight a text however the youtube link also turns the background white as well. Dunno :confused:

Truthfully however, Iā€™d also like this as a setting in the preferences because it helps with my eyes when Iā€™m on the forum for hours on end just reading or waiting for new topics to pop up or am following a conversation.

It could be related to my chrome extension ā€œStylishā€ which makes my Youtube background black soā€¦ hereā€™s a photo of the forum with black background :smiley: Looks amazing actually.

I think you can change the background/font if you had some chrome extension that lets you input custom CSS for pages :s in theory it can happen but idk if such a tool exists. Cool find though c:

I kinda like the background being black maybe that should be an option in the forum haha.

I wish i could change it, i got sensible eyesight (from working too much under artificial light) and sometimes looking at the white forum pages give me headaches.

Well no, it wasnā€™t about my plugin. I was just giving a possible reason for the background turning black. Iā€™m still not sure why it turns black when I open Youtube (since I havenā€™t really tried testing if it was my extension) and I donā€™t actually have anything related to changing the background in the ToS website which is why I was reporting this.

edit: If this really isnā€™t meant for the bug report section, Iā€™ll change it but can you reference me to a better category since I canā€™t think of one :smiley:

Ok, let me reformulate it into an affirmation : it is a Stylish bug, it isnā€™t a Discourse bug.
Could you share your stylish custom CSS for youtube? So I can tell you if I can reproduce it, and tell you concretly whatā€™s happening so we can close this discussion.

Hey, sorry the late reply.

I canā€™t reproduce the bug on my computer. I suspect *google.com domains to be injected in the page (google analytics / youtube videos integration) and causes the bug.

Anyway, I created a black ToS forum webpage Stylish if youā€™d like to use it.

Please notice there are lot of things that arenā€™t displayed correctly ! Iā€™ll fix it regularly, I like black background too so Iā€™ll improve it.

So far the only things that i think need attention are, both buttons close to our avatar on the green menu bar, and the replay/post painel that still white, but the reply button in there got the text color different, its dark tho unside the blue, i think it uses the same style from the reply button on the user post.

Other than that its pretty neat, my eye are thankfull lol.

Iā€™ve reverted the color of the Reply to grey like the others buttons.
Iā€™ve also fixed the reply zone and few other things!

It looks cool now, but on the reply button backgroud on the reply window still blue, it make a bit hard to read, and the green backgroud on the main menu bar now is black too, not that i mind tho.

Btw the class is ā€œbtn btn-primary createā€

I already tried to modify the ā€œbtn btn-primary createā€ font color, but it didnā€™t work :frowning: Donā€™t know why.

Wellā€¦ I learned how to do a small amount of CSS editingā€¦ took me a few hours but I think I made a nice looking background :confused: I found a few issues with @MementoMoriā€™s style so I thought I could give it a shot and make my own.

It basically makes all of the ToS website black (not just the forum part) besides Story since it is just a bunch of pictures. o.o not even sure if people will like it but ā€¦ here it is :smiley:

edit: I just updated it a bit cuz I missed likeā€¦ 1 page and 1 thing (BADGES!!! lol) and ended up messing something else up and had to go fix thatā€¦ :frowning: I donā€™t like coding anymore. But message me if anyone finds anything wrong with the code (feel free to edit it and send me an edit if you want).

edit 2: .-. it feels weird that I have to update here to tell people that I changed something in the styleā€¦ againā€¦ like one thing :frowning: I keep bringing up this old topic ā€¦ whatever anyways literally 1 changeā€¦ 1ā€¦ ONE and it was about moderator postsā€¦ it was still white colored. Sorry all :cry:

Ohh this is a nice one, ty for making this. I do like @MementoMori too but no more like system its a shame.
