TOS First MMO Where you hate seeing peoples around

I’m not sure how to tackle this subject.

I believe anyone that played this game enough know how frustrating KSing is.

But to me the issue lie somewhere else.

NEVER in my life as a MMO gamer have I despised seeing peoples around me more than in TOS.

I’m not sure how the developers meant things to be. But there is a couple factor that when mixed together lead to this game becoming extremely anti-social.

Literally when I’m questing or grinding and see someone appear in my screen I just tell myself NOT again, that bastard is going to KS me or slow me down again and again.

That’s just NOT normal in a MMO mindset.

In an MMO I should see someone and see them as potential ally, friends, and NEVER should I feel they will be a nuisance to me in any ways.

The way the game feel it would be 1000% better if the game was fully instanced much like POE (Path of Exile) or D3 (Diablo 3), the game experience would be thousands of time better for everyone.

Imagine having a quest and not having to worry about someone coming to make your quest take 10 time longer just because there is bad spawn or others random circumstances.

Imagine finding a grinding spot and no one coming to still your kills or questing in your grind area.

Imagine a world where seeing someone make you happy instead of sad.

That’s what MMO are suppose to be, I should be HAPPY to see someone not angry or sad.

Anyone else feels this way in this game?

Aside from my friends everyone I see feels like a nuisance and make me angry or sad for the most part.

Imagine forming a party and doing quests/grinding/farming together. Pretty hard to KS from a group.

I agree that KS’ing is annoying and should be just punishable by rules, but it’s not annoying to the extent of turning MMO into a semi-single player instanced rubbish. Just play those kind of games if you like them.

PS: it’s people without s. Just saying.

they should make it so anyone who deals dmg will get credit. or atleast 15% of all dmg on the monster

The grind spot issue needs to be solved but IMO having a single player multiplayer just breaks the immersion. For me it just feels stupid to be playing an MMO that is single player.

I’d say at least until level 50 (dungeon) there’s not much reason to interact with anyone on maps. You don’t really need a grinding party until you hit about 140. A little more group interactive content in the lower levels wouldn’t hurt.

Even when grinding I hate seeing other party. Tree of Anti Social indeed.

If they kept the game focused on grinding instead of this wow style (spam quests / spam dgs) it would already be highly different. People complained and they implemented multiple other ways to gain XP instead of improving the grinding itself, which was the original proposal. That’s the first reason.

The second reason is we simply don’t have enough spawn to support a full party in most maps, let alone multiple groups running around. Thats why we change channels: to have a more fluid grinding, which is only possible alone with very few exceptions.

Third reason is that mobs don’t get harder at all. They just get tons more HP, turning it into a patience game. The harder mobs are actually the ones we can’t dodge, which is also not fun. We can do well alone for a big part of the game, and after that we can’t because our only option is to spam pots. Neither is fun.

So, my opinion is simple: if and when they fix the overall grinding, parties will be made everywhere and we will have more fun overall.

That’s the main issue here.

In game like GW2 or Rift, you see someone you know they will help you. It’s an MMO after all, seeing someone should equal to me being happy.

I don’t play MMO to be alone. Problem is when you form a party and see other peoples then the ones in your party, you know they will be a nuisance to you and your party.

Quest should work like in GW2 imho. Everyone contribute no one hinder the progression of others, it’s call collective effort.

Grinding should be the same, no one coming near me should make it so I make less XP, otherwise it mean they are slowing me down and this means it annoys me and my party.

Instance area for grinding is one options. Problem at the moments is limited Dungeon per day.

All in all, the game would be hundred times better if everyone would help each others and it would allow everyone to socialize better in what is suppose to be a MMO.

I know ragna had respawn system that made spawn rate ralative to players in the map, so more players more monsters to kill. I dunno if they implement same thing here.

I would like to suggest something like a ONE CLICK PARTY KEY just for convenience, you know… we are all naturally lazy… doing right click and hover the right option then clicking it takes time and tiring, given that I’m killing some monster also and a random player is also moving. we also dunno if one have party already. With this we able to send party invitation all over the screen with just one key, seeing people come by will be much nicer to see than seeing them as rival. HAH! I’M FCKIN SO GENIUS!:joy:

I 100% agree. the game is so very restricted that you end up playing single player for most of the beggining at least…and I would like it to me more coop friendly

I remember one quest I should lure and kill like, 5 monters near a spot, but the spot was little afair from the nearest spawn point, so, I needed to lure the monster and kill him right in the end of their “aggro” zone and the begining of the quest zone

The only problem: There was 3 randons doing the same quest, only 3 channels with other people doing the same quest and other people killing the mobs I was luring and the best of all: If someone last hit your monster the quest dont mark the kill as yours

Im not kidding, I almost punched my screen

You must not have played many MMOs, WoW/RIFT/RO and a heap of other mmos have had the same issue with open area kill/collect quests which are not per person and force you to wait on respawns of mobs or items.

Kill stealing has been a thing for as long as I can remember and there have never been any good game mechanisms to prevent it except for instanced areas or spawning enough mobs in the first place that it’s no longer really a problem.

There is nothing new about that in this game though I do wish MMOs would stop doing that ■■■■.

Lol ksing is already common since maplestory days. That’s like… 10 years ago

InB4 ToS players start saying “cc plz”

I actually partied up with those people and did the quest.

Tried, the quest still dont give us all “point” for the kill

It does give in my case. Finished it in very short time.

Yeah, quests normally give credit when someone ks you or you ks someone, but this one was BSing, I dont know why
