Share your first character experience on ToS by answering the following:

  1. What base class did you pick and what later rank were you aiming for?
  2. Did you make it to rank 7 with your first character
  3. Do you still have/play the character and if so what level?
  4. What did your stats and ranks end up like?
  5. What do’s and don’ts did you learn from playing that character?
  6. Did you remake that character and try to polish the build? If so share what you changed/would change.

Anyway here is my first experience as an example:

  1. Swordsman aiming for fencer
  2. Yes to R7
  3. Yes still have the character and she’s 229. I don’t really play her aside from missions.
  4. Swordsman, Peltasta, Barb C2, Corsair, Fencer, Templar. Stats 3:1 Str Dex with about 40 Con
  5. I learned that both Barb and Corsair don’t start to shine til C2. Rapier durability makes me cry. Timing stuns from helm chopper and seism made great tanking utility. If you pick peltasta make sure to stat a decent amount of Con. High evasion characters make you feel like a god until magic mobs with high hp pools start to appear.
  6. Nope I probably won’t try another fencer even though I really did like flanconnade and timing it for blocking. I have made a tanking swordsman and might consider putting fencer into it when more ranks are released.

Note: I know someone is bound to answer question 1 as swordsman and 5 as not to play swordsman. So I’ll just go ahead and put that answer in the OP so those people don’t feel like they’re being clever :smiley:

  1. Cleric going to re-test out Sadhu
  2. Nope, stopped before R6
  3. Still have him but thinking of remaking, Level 169
  4. Cleric 2 > Krivis > Sadhu 2, Say something like 40 Con, rest dumped into INT.
  5. Learned how to distribute Krivis points now, that set I put on him is a mess, lol. Sadhu isn’t as trashed as people say, but it requires money to achieve high damage via Attributes. However, Sadhu is incredibly buggier than it has been and getting rubberbanded and trapped kills the fun of using a soul to smack things silly.
  6. Look at 3, and I’d probably alter the build to do other things. Haven’t really thought hard about what I’d change about it.

    Nope

  3. Do you still have/play the character and if so what level?
    Lv145, Peta farmer.

  4. What did your stats and ranks end up like?
    1:1 str/dex, some con

  5. What do’s and don’ts did you learn from playing that character?
    Con is important. More is better. Dex has to be scaled early while priest buffs are potent. Str does nothing. Hoplite’s finestra is much stronger than cleave. Barb c3’s stacking passives are hard to use effectively. Corsair’s stacking is much better for those who want to stack. Hit and run kiting is absolutely necessary on a boss. I want skills that have high over heat for cycling, and quick burst.

    Yes, Sw1, High3, hop2, dragoon :smiley: easy r7, 225

Played priest in CBT and i loved it. so my first char was chaplain and aiming for plague doctor

i went FULL SPR which, in my opionion, is extrememly painful to level… plus i dont play video games for long hours like i used to so… in short… no.

i still plan to tho :slight_smile:

i’d have to check but i think i got close to 100. yes i still plan on playing it

cleric > Priest C3
FULL SPR ( some dex )

other than being extremely weak and slow to solo i dont really regret anything. Stone Skin is awesome.

wait till next big update, if u make anything but wizz3>ele3 or cryo>chrono now u will end up rerolling.

    haha, no. I went cryo2-kino 1 and while it was fun… I was soloing and it was just too slow for my tastes.
  3. Do you still have/play the character and if so what level?
    No I remade her
  4. What did your stats and ranks end up like?
    INT. lil bit of con, and a bit of spr
  5. What do’s and don’ts did you learn from playing that character?
    That I like things to die, in mass, and quickly. Also, ice wall + pp is fun
  6. Did you remake that character and try to polish the build? If so share what you changed/would change.

I considered adding w2->cryo 1> kino 1> cryo 2 -> alchemist
I’ve completely changed my build into something more mainstream/fotm instead though.

My first character was during the last closed beta :v

Closed beta:
Cleric > Priest 2 > Pala > Monk 2

Right now i still dont have a rank 7 character.
I remade my monk to Cleric 2 > Diev 2 > Monk 3 for the official release.

Yes, my remade monk is 205 right now, but my main focus is my rune caster.

My closed beta monk was silly…
My real monk is 2.1.1 str con dex.

Stats distribution, how the skills works, how to save exp cards.

Swordsman,plan was Dragoon.

Yes I did! Didn’t go about it the best way but it still felt great when I got there.

On ocassion,at level 225.

3-2-1 STR-CON-DEX

I made a whole post about this on my Dragoon build thread.I’ll link it in a little bit.

Nah.What I didn’t like from my build/about the character was minimal so I like it as is.

I would still recommend Swordsman personally.I think all the classes need work,not just our branch.

  1. CBT - cleric but quit due to another game release.
    Founders - 250 swordie

  2. Deleted.

  3. Hop Sair Dragoon. 3:1 Str Dex. 40 Con.

  4. Dragoon was preety meh due to no overheats, long cd. Also,cafrisun set for swordies til death cuz plate repairs are expensive.

  5. No. I remade a new swordie aimed to be fencer 2 though recently after I made few characters.

  1. Wiz, aiming for warlock. I swear, i didn’t followed a build, i’ve played WoW for almost 10 years and both elementalists are similar to each other, but then i saw that here it’s a really mainstream class and lost my interest.

  5. Cafrisun and arde dagger are a must if you don’t want to suffer until you reach ele2 lol

  6. No, i created a new character when i was ± lvl 100, a FF, it’s 280 now.

3)Not really, i have another R7 now and im focusing in making my third. lvl 280

  1. 100 STR, all the rest on CON

  2. I wanted a full tanker that could get some agroo on pvp by debuffing and poking so i needed some damage, but 100 STR was a bad idea, should have invested those points in DEX so i could actually hit something in pvp (most of my hits are evaded). Pelta C3 was a good idea, umbo trust has a 100% in decrease in all defenses and a set of stuns, corsair Iron Hook helps a lot, almost 20 sec Stun with a gap closer and fencer evasion and flanconade block mechanics where helpfull and fun (DEX would combo better here too).

  3. Would probably remake when i have all the 4 R7s i want (one from each tree) so i can change those STR points to DEX

    No, only rank 5.
    My current character, which is my second character, is rank 6 (Cle1, Priest3, Chaplain, Cle2) – two class levels before reaching rank 7 (Plague Doctor).

  3. Do you still have/play the character and if so what level?
    Only for dungeon rushing.

  4. What did your stats and ranks end up like?
    30 int, the rest con.

  5. What do’s and don’ts did you learn from playing that character? Nm on DNDs, but I learned that Kinos are mana potion drainers, and I was not able to save silver because of that. They also face a problem with killing a group mobs before R5 when PP gets interrupted (long cd).

  6. Did you remake that character and try to polish the build? If so share what you changed/would change.

  4. Sword1-Pelt1-Hoplite1-Cataphract3-Dragoon (2 Str 1 Con 1 Dex)
  5. Nothing much, I simply got sidetracked from it
  6. Nope, moved on to other things, never looked back.

1.) Wizard ending in ele 3.
2.) Not yet wiz 3 (lv 9)/Pyro 1 and still going strong. So rank 4?
3.) I still have her currently lv 107 base.
4.) Wiz 3 Pyro 1 currently at rank 4 almost 5; 7 str/42 con/137 int/46 Spr/22 dex.
5.) Do not get so much SPR and Dex next time. Use a guide for builds. I had to get a skill reset with TP. Make friends earlier to help with builds.
6.) I didn’t remake her but I should have instead of spending 88 TP. I would also pump less SPR. My next wiz will be a cryo kino to see how that plays instead.

4.) Only made it to r4 which was Highlander3
5.) I used up all my exp cards whenever i had the chance
6.) No I never remade it, if I could i would just level up the right way.

    Cleric, aiming for INT-based Cleric 2, Krivis 3, Druid 2.

    No.

  3. Do you still have/play the character and if so what level?
    No, deleted and remade repeatedly. I still have one of the remakes at level 90 that I never play, though.

  4. What did your stats and ranks end up like?
    I only made it to rank 4, (Cleric 2, Krivis 2), before I realized I hate the way Krivis plays.

  5. What do’s and don’ts did you learn from playing that character?
    Don’t ever role a Krivis again, it’s not a fun playstyle for me.

  6. Did you remake that character and try to polish the build? If so share what you changed/would change.
    Yes, I remade it multiple times trying different stats and skill build options. In the end, I decided an INT-based Cleric, Priest 3, x, Druid 2 was a better fit for me.

My first char is pelt hop3 dop drg. Bought into the meta too bad it sux.

Now working on diff build for my swordie. Never gonna trust meta again.

  3. Nope, I remade her into a Pyro after seeing the Sage class.
  4. Wiz1- Cryo1. I stopped early after realizing I didn’t like the mage class in ToS.
  5. DO start in Klaipeda, not Orsha, the ghosts in the prison was what did my sorry butt in. DON’T use much SPR on a wiz build.
  6. Yes, more or less. I made her into an alt and plan to do something along the lines of Wiz1-Pryo3-Thaum2/Linker2/Chrono2-Warlock1-Sage1

  3. No, that character resides in Orsha and I abandoned it to play in Silute. My character stopped at 23X I think.
  4. 300ish STR, 80 CON and 70 DEX, sort of?
  5. Don’t spam Hunter skills.
  6. I started that character over on Silute, both my Orsha and Silute archers are Hunter 3…I’m still thinking if I should take Falconeer again or go for Scout, it will highly depend on the R8s.
