tl;Dr: Give the game a chance to grow, it’s only been out for months and they have a small development team. They will never grow if we give up now.
Before you start accusing me of “white knighting” I did and still have my fair share of complains for the game.
But I can’t deny the facts or features that I am drawn to. But first, let tackle the main problems before getting to the good parts and I will make it as straight forward as I can be.
-
Server stability: I am sure many of you are fed up and annoyed by the buggy maps and conectivity. but fixes aren’t gonna happen overnight, it takes time to find the source of the problems and the developers, not IMC have to fix them. not to mention there will be some cross server issues when it comes to the servers that IMC are not hosting themselves.
-
Lack of content: Let’s face it, we are really not that far behind KToS, it takes time to code and translate new content. I have been in games where the NA contents are years behind the Korean/Japanese verions.
-
Issue with buying TP: This is a no brainer here. it is quite obvious that IMC is having some roadblocks when it comes to selling TP. there are so many things to consider such as pricing and regional pricing, and having to deal with Steam. Many of you made it sound like IMC doesn’t event want to make money.
Those are the major complains about the game. And now back to my main point and why I think ToS is doing alright.
Aside of the common problems other MMOs have, TOS is a pretty solid game.
1.It has nice graphics, well not triple A titled MMO graphics because it wasn’t designed that way. The animation and environmental details are superb for this style of MMO.
-
Game play is fun and straight forward. It wasn’t designed to be a strategically challenging game, You don’t need to be super hardcore about it which attracts a bigger player base. But I am sure a lot of us are playing because of nostalgic reasons.
-
It’s a full game: I lost count on how many big gaming giants releasing a half finished game and milking us more through DLCs. ToS have everything an MMO needs, (more or less, even though the dungeon system is kinda lack luster) and there will only be more contents in the future.
I was gonna add more but I will probably give the wrong impression. conclusion? the tl;Dr part. Give the game a chance to grow and improve. it will never be the game we want it to be if we give up on it now.
