Today on rage topics: Showing the middle finger to anyone who died

  • Death in instanced (black border with film icon on top of the screen) content reduces durability two times (once asking you if you wish to abandon, then a second time when it asks you if you wished to return to your so called revival point)
  • Death returns you to some mythical non existing bs term called “revival point” but in reality it just throws you back a random number of maps. If on generic open map, usually 1, if the content is in a dungeon with floors, up to 7-8 (!) i.e. sancturay which lets you walk back from apsi crossroads from six ****ing maps away, and that floor is not even the top. This however:
  • Makes it completely impossible to retrieve dropped gems. With token, potions, hacks and what not you will still never be able to get back to those gems from 6 ■■■■■■■ maps away. (Im not against gems dropping, but with the current resurrection bs all this does is taking a nice hard schlong and rubs it into the face of every player who died, screaming: Oh you had gems on you? THEN ■■■■ YOU.
  • If you happen to be not on the map when a boss/world boss dies because you are returned to your “revival point” X maps away, you will not be eligible to any form of loot, including as much as silver
  • The repair of durability is not calculated in %. As far as i can tell it knows only two setting 50% price and full price. in regards of the 50% price i have no idea when and how it applies, i have several times been paying 6k for a repair while ALL of my stuff was red and also while it had like 30 durability missing out of 100.

You rage rant is based on assumption/entitlement that you are supposed to get back to map where you died to retrieve your gems or to get boss loot when you basically given up on fight by pushing “revive at respawn”. Let me tell you: you are NOT supposed to get there in time. Revive on spot with crystals or play in party with priest so you can continue to fight.

Repair costs the same for a given set of gear regardless of its durability. Only those who repair too often without any planning are penalized by this system.

Well, then your reply is based on the absence of common sense and a general lack of grey matter.

Your arguments as listed:

  • The system is supposed to piss you off for no reason
  • You should always have a priest at hand
  • Spend more money, yay
  • Reviving means you forfeited battle (no it doesnt mean you died, it means you do not want any xp or loot)
  • Always spending the max amount of money on repairs is a good idea and only those are penalized by it who are actually repairing (nobody forces you to do it)

Do me a favor and the next time you want to reply some mentally set back bs on someone’s post, just go to youtube and watch one of your favorite videos instead.
You get one point for the cataclysmic idea of reviving = forfeit tho. Its so retarded that one has to pay its respects before it.

Thanks for listing my arguments.

If you dont understand the importance of some sort of punishment for dieing in MMOs that incentivizes players to group up, or you dont understand the importance of currency sink systems in games then your Ad Hominen attack can be returned right back to you.

Thats a simple strawman. Punishment for death does not stand up to question here and in fact, i wrote myself that having gem drops from you on death is something im not against.
However, creating the illusion that you can recollect your gems, just to ■■■■ you over by placing you 6 maps away, is not punishment, its aggravating. Not only because you lost gems, but also because now you can walk all the way back.
Then there is the inconsistency of 1 map back placement and 6-8 map back placements. Not cool.

Most games handle deaths in a much simpler manner: You died, you lose xp/money. They do not create the illusion that you can pick it back up, but also ■■■■ you over by making it literally impossible unless you walk around with pocket priests or gem store items.

Finally: Your reply does not account for things like double durability loss or disregarded boss drops (because believe it or not death = forfeit is a ridiculous argument).
Whatever. The post is there, the devs can decide what can be considered a bug and what is an intended feature.
