Tree of Savior Forum

To the disappointed founders -

We paid money for an unfinished release. I really enjoyed the concept of the game, but I didn’t think I’d be grinding in a 5 man party in 6FPS in order to access more content.

There are hundreds of levels so I’m assuming this Maple Story type grinding is going to be common. I had never played Ragnorak so I expected a leveling system like FF Tactics, being promoted through jobs that make you essential to the team and give you appropriate skills.

I tried to refund the 50$ founders pack because I felt like a pet and some coins weren’t enough to separate me from the crowd. And that is important because the crowd becomes about 20 years younger once the game goes free to play. Not to mention my computer dipping from 60-100fps all the way down to 6FPS (screenshotted) on a GTX970.

Unfortunately because I exceeded 2 hours on a MMO, during release. The queue alone took me 2 hours to get in. I also ran the client hours before because you said you were going to release at 3AM but actually released the next day. Time racked up, and I wasn’t given the appropriate chance to figure out whether I like the game or not. However, since this is Korea and many Korean MMO developers practice bad business especially overseas I can only say that I should have known better. Steam won’t speak to me, the development team won’t speak to me. You’re hiding behind your automated emails and forums, because of your vain efforts I ask that anyone who reads this to no longer support MMOs or any Korean developers in general. The choice is yours, but similar releases and stiff arming will occur in the future if other developers see this as a successful release. Thanks for your time and have a great day

You can still request a refund through steam, I was granted a refund yesterday and I had quite a few hours logged into the game. I just wasn’t happy with the product, there were just too many bugs and steam granted the refund. Right now there’s quite a few people requesting refunds so when a game is receiving a lot of negative feed back, you’re more likely to get your refund granted.

I might come back once the game has worked out the kinks in 3 months or so, but as it stands I don’t want waste my limited disposable income on a game that may turn out to be something I’m not entirely satisfied with like Starbound.

I see that having experience during a launch of MMOs is some sort of knotch under your belt in this community. I have been present for several launches including ESO, GW2, several WoW expansions and Star Wars.

I’ve QA game tested for Doom 4 and the newest Hitman.

I understand server issues and I understand certain content not being implemented. But to release a game and offer 6FPS in the thick of your content AFTER already testing your game your own community. If I was QA game testing I would say your game is unplayable in its current state as an MMO.

Unfortunately I’ve been denied 3 times because I have 22 hours on the game. Funnily enough when they said they were going to release at 3AM est I had ran the client, fell asleep and woke up to their delayed release anyway.

That’s really strange, I had around the same amount of hours on it and I was just trying to refund to see how it would go since I’ll admit I was being “salty” over the lag, as well as the dungeons being down. It wasn’t amusing to see bots teleport killing as highlanders as well. But I was granted the refund request oddly enough within 6 hours on Saturday. I really wasn’t expecting to receive it, even stated so on my refund request.

I just felt like it was being falsely advertised as a completed product since it feels like its in beta at best. But after lurking and googling around this was to be considered paid access beta test. But apparently according to some IMC hid this fact. There’s also an older article about the koreans boycotting it

http://news.mmosite.com/content/2015-12-29/tree_of_savior_korean_players_protest_against_the_remove_of_direct_trading.shtml

It may not be the best source or even be entirely accurate so don’t take it to heart. I don’t know how to speak korean nor do I know anyone who plays kToS, so I can’t get their opinion on how the game is. But in the article it states the game is also ridden with bugs.

You mean the game where everyone was a Monk or Ninja (which was basically one and the same thing) and all the other classes werent really played? Perhaps not the best example to use.

There’s plenty of good reasons to complain about the current state of the game. Queues and lag during release of a MMO is most definately not one.

Has been happening with MMOs since foreeeeveeer.

You too (insert smilie here to make my post seem nicer )

I want you to try to beat FFT 1.3 and then say these words again. :smiling_imp:

Not sure you read the posts, I’ll ignore your other comments but I will address this one.

Not exactly what I was saying, my main complaint comes from not being able to refund the game. The queue alone was 2 hours when I started, which exceeds Steams policy of returning the game. Not to mention they said the release would be at 3AM est, which was delayed. I dunno about you, but my client was open and running waiting for the opening at exactly 3AM est which cuts into that 2 hour policy.

yea guess what, this isn’t a “bad” launch of an mmo

this is a pretty much standard launch for any overhyped MMO.

as for your 6fps issue, you should probably check what’s going on in the background of your computer. ToS is far more CPU heavy than GPU. i have a GTS 450 card, and i run at a fairly smooth 60fps, with periodic dips to 45ish.

also, make sure to disable the Shout bar at the top of the screen. (hit enter to open chat entry box, click gear at the end, uncheck the shout box). there’s something funky about that bar that really chokes up the resources.

This is actually accurate, disabling the shout by did help my fps a bit. I get a solid 20-30 fps in Klaipeda. I dip from 75 to 20 when there just 3 people on the screen killing monsters in Tenet Church B1. I don’t know how you get a smooth fps at all, running anywhere even alone I stutter from 60 to 45/40 which creates this weird lag looking experience.

Could you actually go to a farm zone, with 5 person party and screenshot when monsters spawn?

Gtx970 8 Core Proc btw

Were you able to get your refund? I will be extremely surprised if you couldn’t get it through steam / IMC, with support tickets.

Sir, where do I click for that?

Okay, so if you want a refund go to your top left corner on the steam app, click help it drops down select steam support. From there It’ll ask what do you need help with, click on purchases it’ll then bring up a selection of your most recent transactions. Click on the Tree of Savior founder package that you purchased.

From there I believe in most cases this would fall under it’s not what I expected. From there you’ll state what the reason is.

Amen to that, then again if you get 2 black mages from start and build a team around them you steamroll most of 1.3

you still need chemist/white mage or both to heal and revive your characters from distance.

Thanks, I hope it works!

For sure, my team was a white/chemist 2 black mages 1 tanky mix knight and the hero to fill archer/melee as needed. Everyone has chemist max in case i need to item in more than 2 people. Love the patch though

Saying to never support any MMOs in general is a bad idea and a pinch immature of a reaction. There are MMOs out there that did GREAT and really listened to their playerbase during development (like Guild Wars 2, for example) and then there are MMOs that… didn’t. And won’t.

You can’t request people to “never support MMOs” again just because of one bad experience. I DO agree with you that people should be wary of Korean MMOs, however. The business practice over there is way crappy and unfair. When coming to the US or to the EU, companies packaging games from Asia need to adapt and change their policies to fit the new country they’re trying to sell their product to. However, if they did that then maybe their playerbases over in Korea would realize how they’re being ripped off and complain. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Maybe it would help shape up the shady business practice.

r9 290x/i7-5820 user here
have seen minimum of 10 FPS in Klapeida
still aweful

im using a GT650m. and most of the time, except 50 ppl on world boss or in town, are pretty stable 30fps. ur problem might due to the gold seller spamming chat? or theres something wrong with ur pc setting/ game is not compatible with ur pc that well…
