to answer your obvious question, yes the combat update changed some things. however after experimenting ive found that it still works with a few tweaks. if anyone is serious about murmillo i can give some advice on the rotation and such with the new update out…

Honestly, I would love any feedback on murmillo. I haven’t been able to test it properly since the char i was changing to one is stuck with a guild due to week cd (so have to wait 8 more hours).

you could not be more unlucky, because if maintenance tomorrow starts at midnight then theres no more resets.

i cant just say “murm is great this build is best for all purposes and these skills are better than everything else always” but if you paint me a picture what youre trying to do i can give you a broad starting point.

Im more amaze on your trinity sword and aias shield. Post rebalance, Murmillo evolve from tank-utility to tank-killer in my server. Taking the spot from Cata 3 as cheap PVP centric swordsman.

Specifically, I was wondering what works well with the new stat scaling(i.e. pelt umbo/rim blow etc…) as in which skills give the most bang for the buck, and which feel the smoothest to do a rotation with (since all I can do is crunch some numbers, but doesn’t help if the skill lag/animation sucks too bad)

And yea, i was gonna do someone a favor so they could reset their templar and kinda boned myself a little in the process. So any help would be greatly appreciated in skill distribution/feedback. Mostly just wanna avoid wasting points in trap skills.

@jynxie08 ya before update murmillo skills had high skill damage with long cooldowns, now we have normal damage with long cooldowns, so i find pumping into survivability more important than ever due to other classes having better skills with faster cooldowns… =/ had no need to upgrade gears if i did 55k damage with headbutt lol. when i fought catas that knew my playstyle, they would always hit me once with dethrone, then run the clock for the entire match (since my HP is soo high my potions barely heal any of my health so they win be default for being full hp at the end, hence why i re-specced to have shield lob)

gonna sound weird here, but i did the testing myself, and this is quite funny

believe it or not, max level shield push (once considered the worst skill ever for that class) does AS MUCH DAMAGE as my murmillo skills do… also shield bash has had its damage increased by almost as much… (shield bash has 2 uses and is a very fast skill, takes longer to hit an enemy twice with 2 normal attacks) lastly umbo thrust has had its damage increased to the point where its actually necessary to put 5 points in instead of 1 (usually you just put 1 point in for the debuff, but lv5 actually does over 1000% damage scaling its insane)

i can give you rotations if you tell me your build, if you dont know your build id have to ask you many questions revolving around your goals and such. im heading off to bed for work in the morning but ill be checking this thread back later and theres alot of more info i could say now regarding skills to get and such but this should be a start for you.

oh one last thing i forgot, i dont consider umbo blow or rim blow to be worth getting (unpopular opinion) because i find it more necessary to get lv15 swash and lv15 guardian. i tested the damage of those 2 skills (with high guard attribute and murmillo helmet attribute) and i found their damage to only deal around 12k, while at the time my murmillo skills dealt 45k + 55k damage so it was highly not worth it at the time especially with survivability being more important to me by getting the hp and defense buffs instead. i DID NOT test these skills after update as ive grown accustomed to needing other skills over them.

I agree with the rim/umbo blow assessment, never liked em much myself outside of utility for umbo at 1 point.

ATM I was considering doing the sw1 pelt3 rode3 murm. I just like the idea of a pure tank class, and they deal a surprising amount of burst. But ill have more specific details as I work them out myself before i crash out too.

master teach me just the basics… and really advisable for too much hp? no hp pot can reach that much yet… :confused:

imo, murm is too OP atm LOL high dmg+high block. A whale archer or healer can be killed with 2vs1 but a whale murm? nah, 4vs1 is still not sure to win. Meanwhile Archer is still crying in the corner since arrows get blocked by murm and bullied by missle hole LOL :joy:

I think you have like 100% block against anything that’s not a lancer if you go pelt3hop3murm, block is actually insane in pvp right now against phys dps
