[Tips] Reporting Cheaters!

*this is a topic for the fun of it, with some educational benefits, not a guide of any sort. 2lazy.

Here’s some tips on reporting cheaters!

(A) DON’T tell/call out the cheater on whatever he’s doing.
You’re just warning him/her ahead and making the target aware that he has been noticed!
It makes it easier for mods to monitor cheaters if said cheaters aren’t aware that they’re being watched.
Telling the cheater he’s cheating and saying you’ll report him/her is rather backward in the attempt.
It’s something salty people tend to do, so try not to let your salt stop you from properly getting ahead.

(B) Don’t use public shaming!
Because (A) & there’s rules against it most of the time.
You’ll sooner get banned than he/she if your proof was insufficient.
Don’t let your friends/allies do it for you, either.

© Report it directly to the top!
Don’t go around sharing your proof just to prove your point, because (A) and (B).
Report it to the top authority of account/player management and let the results happen first!
If nothing happens to the cheaters quickly enough, I don’t expect the management would deal with it any faster just because you went ahead and mouthed off about it. (exceptions exist)

Not that it matters if it gets buried.
People will be salty and salty people will do salty people things.

I once spent an entire afternoon trying to explain that cheaters aren’t suddenly evil gamers because they cheated.
If you can’t treat your opponents as equals (or superiors), you are severely underestimating your opponent.
“BUT HES A NUB HAXXOR WIF NO SKILS DAS Y HE CHEAT”.

What if its the staff itself thats cheating, there have been many moments in gaming where the staff are taking advantage of the game. Thus rendering them immune to the rules they enforce.

Yeah, I’ve seen staff with the ability to go immune, or 1 hit ko things, or fly.

Sometimes they can pull out a hammer and banish players away from a game.

How do we deal with staff cheaters?

Do you mean hackers/exploiters? And if you keep this up-to-date long enough it won’t be buried, its a good read for anyone :thumbsup:

A little off-topic, but I take a serious pleasure to mess with the botters.
I analyze how the bot behaviors, then I try to push him into a situation the bot maker didn’t except - kill it by luring too much monsters around him for instance. It is so satisfying when a bot don’t work anymore.
