Time to use your SorcAutoPot

this

hook64 competes with the money that could be won by BMI

Not sure where you pulled that out from, but ffxiv implemented an auto logout feature simply because their servers couldn’t handle the amount of players when it was at its peak(I know because I played ver1 through to arr). This forces people to afk in game to avoid the insanely long queueing time to enter the server should they choose to logout. It totally has nothing to do with automation of actions the topic starter is talking about, which, in ffxiv terms of service, is illegal.

Tree of savior’s terms of service is slightly more vague that doesn’t specifically mention about automation software, along with the fact that they don’t enforce it, makes the situation worse.

maybe they confirm
and so we will have a AutoPotAFKWar

Aye, that’s the one I was referring to. But you have to admit it sparked discussion. And I was kind of hoping someone from the East might shed light on my theory as unlikely as it is. Chances are it was just lost in translation since Yoshida’s posts are always extremely apologetic about anything.

"Oh… I see a pixel was off in Elezen city. We are so sorry. We will fix this right away. Please look forward to it. " Everyone loves that man for good reason. And kind of wish Kim was a bit more like him at times.

They did specifically mention autopot in a QA though. They did say they dont care about letting your pet farm for you though.

Also from the TS

"Furthermore, any of following activities is forbidden by IMC Games and you may not engage or attempt to engage in any of the followings:

  • Snatching and recording the inputs from keyboards and mice.
  • Using a program that can be used in hacking even if the program in question are commercially available or a part of an Operating System such as a key grabber and macro programs."

and

“You may not engage in any usage or distribution of illegal programs unrecognized by IMC Games.”

iTOS has a missing S

it should be iTOSS

I TOSS IT AWAY FAR FAR TO THE MOON ~

Yes. I have read the terms of service. That is why I said it was vague. It is nothing like FFXIV’s, which is straight in your face:

2.1 Cheating and Botting. You may not create or use any unauthorized cheats, bots, automation software, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized software or hardware designed to modify the Game and gameplay. In addition, you may not take advantage of game system bugs and exploits during gameplay.

I guess it would be nice for them to be more specific about it.

Oh,u quitting already? not gonna wait for R8 1st? Well, I’m willing to inherit all ur chars items btw. Hohoho

Most of the best stuff is untradeable. That’s how IMC rolls.

What exactly is hook64? I know it’s some sort of hack but that’s all I know about it.

I also think players should have the right to AFK in game. Auto logout is more for the server load.

But afk doesn’t mean afk farming, let alone botting.

What Yoshi-P means is that being AFK in cities is OK, people should be allowed to do so.
They don’t have AFK farmers because they have sturdy and relevant methods to prevent them.

Bots are there but they are banned so fast that it feels like there are no bots. Same goes for WoW.

But we’re talking about two games with huge budgets to spend in infra-structure thus being able to hold that many people being it active or AFK.

ToS doesn’t have a clear rule against AFK farmers and if you can’t prove they weren’t there potting every once in a while, you can’t ban them. And even so we have the classes that can summon stuff forever.

I don’t really know what they could do… Maybe boss spanws in all AFK farming areas of the game every now and then… Perhaps a mutation mob that is very hard to kill and hit’s really hard but easy to dodge like someone suggested in another topic (Props to him, whoever that may be).

Maybe imc is seeing necromancers from a roleplaying pov. Necromancers would send their minions out to do their bidding while they releax in their lair. Which means maybe their class is meant to be an afk farming class… but sorcorer summons arent since they are limited by your sp.

IDK just a thought. im not condoning afk farming.

I honestly dislike AFK farming. It makes Sorcerers hard to buff since anything you buff might be used to improve AFK farming and that sucks cause it wasn’t the intention of the class…

or maybe it was…?

I don’t know. Honestly I have no idea what’s going on with IMC and what are their next year plans for the game.

AFK farming isn’t a bad thing so long as it is restricted to completely in-game means… Aka Necromancer farming isn’t bad because they simply stand there and their minions kill everything. Sorc farming, though, is a bad thing, because they are using modifications or automation to use potions so that their summon doesn’t disappear and can continue to kill things. This doesn’t mean that I think Dina is a good thing, but that Necromancers or AFK-Z is allowed by game, and not a bannable offense, but that Sorcerers abusing tpp or modifications to automatically receive input IS very much bannable… or at least should be if IMC didn’t let abuses run rampant in TOS. In any instance, my Oracle Kabba2 @R8 will happily be cloning mobs to hunt and wipe AFK’s lol

Necromancer: Stands there doing nothing and the game allows for this innately. The player is not required to be present because no input is being made.

Sorcerer: Stands there automatically drinking potions via tpp or modifications, and the game does not allow for this innately (is only available with automation found outside vanilla TOS). The player is supposed to be present, as input is required to sustain the summon.

The same can be said of someone holding the Z key; this is something the game allows for.

To all those scenarios it should be known that if IMC wanted TOS to handle it any differently all they need to do is add means to prevent it (Necromancer minions die automatically after 5 minutes, players standing still are returned to their lodge after 10 minutes, holding Z only attacks 5 times in a row before doing nothing more for that press, etc etc etc). Until IMC does those things then what we have in-game breaks no rules at all.

I say all that only because of OP’s hue graphic (which I enjoyed) is of a Shoggath which is from a Necromancer and requires no potions to sustain, despite the thread speaking about auto-pot.

AFK-Z, AFK w/minions, etc are legal so long as no tpp or modifications are used. Everything in-game is provided for us and IMC can change how that functions at any time, but have chosen for years for it to act this way. Auto-pot in any fashion, especially for the countless fields of sorcs, should be a bannable offense… and I’m not sure why they, nor the countless hacks, bots, and macros, reported in the forums, never seem to make it on the ban list.
