Take out linker , your taunt and they barely can aoe.
And you are hoplite right? you start to shine after hop c3 and doppel (cyclone).
That was because of the link, which makes the magic missile hit a lot of times.
Parallel question, Is it true that link is wearing off after 10 attacks?
That was a Quick Cast (+50% dmg) Magic Missile on a Linked Mob (100% dmg). Magic Missile is a single target attack with 3 bullets and each one splits into 3 when hitting enemies, and since they were all in the same spot it splits so fast you can’t even see it, doing massive damage very fast… Also the wizzes probably are very close to a full INT build judging by low HP, probably ~35 Con.
Linking however does not work with most higher lvl wiz skills, such as elementalist’s frost cloud or meteor, making it quite less useful in higher levels, at least when comboing with other wizzes.
You however are using a shield on off hand, has 1 defensive class(considering you only have 4 classes at that point 1/4 is a lot) and probably isnt running full str/dex. If you wanna do more dmg maybe reroll as a 2H Sword/Spear swordsman with full Str/Dex and no defensive classes?
However there are several OP sinergies in the game, and learning how to do them and benefit from them is what splits a good build from an awesome build. Joint Penalty + Hangman’s Knot + Quick Cast + Magic Missile is a good example on earlier levels for clearing mobs. This does a lot less damage on bosses, as magic missile won’t split in several ones and all deal damage on the boss.

Nope, but it does wears off earlier in a incosistent manner (may wear off without anyone hitting in a few seconds). What I believe is that CC in general has lower duration in dungeons, and linking is classified as CC. However I have no proof of this and haven’t done extensive testing, just a gut feeling with my Cryo/Linker wiz.
But it would make sense for CC to be not as effective in dungeons, since it makes things too easy (frozen for example is quite OP). I however dislike it applying to Joint Penalty, since it works more like a damage buff to the party.
