The Cataphract at rank 4 seems a little suspect. Usually if you went Cataphract it’s best to fluorish that class and go into more circles of it since just by itself it’s kind of meh. You should be maxing Gung Ho and taking out Thrust entirely since you have Hoplite. Personally I wouldn’t dump a lot of points into Jolly Roger simply because it sustains itself as it is. Could you give a little explanation on your choices in ranks and skills?
@Kokori Ah, I was actually not sure whether to choose thrust or gung ho. I’ll do that now.
My idea was basically a mobile damage dealer (besides the point of yelling “charge!” riding into battle).
So Peltasta is obviously because of swashbuckling skill and Hoplite for its spear skills and finestra skill. I’m undecided between stabbing and synchro thrust. On one hand synchro has slow activation while stabbing is a channeling skill which isn’t what I had in mind for a mobile DPS.
Cata is for mobility and it goes well with my 1h spear/shield from the previous classes.
I bring corsair up to C2 just for its hexen to dish out some decent damage. The only reason I raise Jolly roger up so much is because:
- I can’t use dust devil while riding
- unlock chest is useless
I was undecided whether to put more points into iron hook/keel hauling for pvp and guild wars or jolly roger
Basically Swordsman>Peltasta>Hoplite>Cata>?>?>Templar is what I had in my mind. Is CataC3 better than Cata>CorsairC2? Or are there any better combinations that you suggest?
Hmm… from your ideas it seems like this is a good build plan for what you want. Synchro thrusting, though, is terrible. I’d only put 1 point in it if you REALLY want it as its mostly for filler. Cata3’s high point is it gains 100% uptime on Trot and also gains Rush, which makes Cata REALLY shine. Cata by itself is alright for mobility but you could get better damage by going Hoplite C2 and using less DEX since Finestra will be level 10. If you go Cata it’s just so much better to go C3 with it, in my opinion.
I see. So in the end it’ll not be a pirate guild master anymore, just a plain guild master. LOL. But it’s alright. Corsair was just a filler anyway.
My final build will probably be like this then.
This looks fine. I personally would max Earth Wave because it’s nice. Impaler works better in PVP than PVE so I’d just keep it at 1 for utility.
