Goal is casual PvE with okay single-target and okay AoE potential. Not necessarily farming, but able to bring value to high level parties via Falconer’s Circling, Mergen’s screen-wide AoE burst, and QS3 single-target sustained damage. Scout is just for Cloaking.
I know that Mergen is 2H bow and QS3 is crossbow (I already have DGC+Manamana), but I don’t mind transcending/refining two weapons and stuff. It’s not much different from a QS3-Cannoneer/Musketeer needing to work on GC and cannon/rifle.
Haven’t checked your skill distribution, but the ranks seems good to me. Balanced.
I understand how fun it is to play a QS3 as I have one myself. Circling with Multishot and Mergen skills compensates decently for QS3’s lack of AOE. No synergy (between QS3 and Falcon/Mergen), but hell some like me even roll QS3 Falcon3 because it’s fun.
You can also swap out Scout1 for Hunter1 for added CC if you intend to PVP a lot. Overall though, Scout1 is really good enough for the utility it provides in just a single rank both in PVP and PVE.
Looks like they’ll be improving Cannon skills soon and even make it synergize with Kneeling Shot.
Mergen’s burst is indeed really good especially when coupled with Circling but I’ve read on other threads you’ll need filler skills from lower ranks to compensate for downtime (Mergen skills have long CD [30-40s] though almost as long as Circling). Probably not a problem when you’re in party w/ a Chrono.
The safest route for you now if you really don’t have any other character to reset is to reset that archer before the voucher expires and WAIT for the buffs to some of the archer classes to come to iTOS. For the time being, you can roll a different toon.
Any idea if this is actually a significant change? From my understanding, Cannoneer damage is a fixed component plus a percent component. Kneeling would add flat damage that also scales with DEX.
So when using Cannoneer skills, would the flat damage be added to the fixed component and also multiplied by the percent component?
I was hoping that the 2 Overheat that Triple Arrow and Homing Arrow have would make up for this aspect. Think that’s misguided?
Kneeling doesn’t add flat dmg. It adds physical attack that comes before all multipliers. That’s why it’s good with running shot and maybe could be good with cannon
As @Bramia said, Kneeling’s pAtk bonus from DEX comes before multipliers. Until kTOS gets that patch though, we’re really yet to know how exactly it would work with Cannon skills.
A bit misleading. The problem with the overheat mechanic in this game is that each overheat’s cooldown is dependent on the subsequent overheat.
To better explain, as an example:
Skill X has 2 overheats with 30s CD
You use OH1; 30s CD starts
before the 30s CD for OH1 completes (which supposedly makes the skill return to 2 overheats again), you had to use the skill again at 29s after the last one causing you to use OH2
The 30s CD restarts but now it’s for both overheats
At least that is how it’s supposed to work before. Now it’s even worst since even if you waited for the CD of OH1 to complete, it’s still considered used as soon as you use the skill again causing both overheats to be used and the whole skill go on CD.
How it should work IMO would be like Dota2 Sniper’s Shrapnel where each overheat’s CD is independent of each other.
