This game is going to the toilet everytime IMC tries to fight bots

Why? Because they don’t do the most basic thing to actually stop bots, that is to add a program that blocks all external programs to be used along the steam client when accessing the game.
That is the right way of fighting bots.
But no.
Let’s stack restriction, after restriction, after restriction. Now it doesn’t even matter if you have a 1 year old acccount, if you create a new character you aren’t even allowed to use the market,
team storage is only possible by having a token and can be painfully slow to keep switching charcaters to tranfer gear around.
Before this restriction I made a reasonable amount of silver with my pre 40
characters simply by selling the lv 15 gear i drop on the market, now I
either sell them to the npc, losing a lot of money, or overstack my
personal storage which can not hold all the gear+gems that are dropped
from the early bosses.
Not to mention that team storage has a very small number of slots that need either a good chunk of silver for a slot or complete some collections.
It’s beyond my understanding to see people trying to tip toe around a big restriction that WILL NOT stop bots, only inconvenience them a little while axe murdering honest players, especially the new ones that will come once the ban is lifted on steam.

Before anyone says “it’s had to add such coding to stop bots”, let me such say that I can’t cook and that is main reason why I can’t work as a chef. If you can’t code a game properly, why are you in this field of job?
I know this is an agressive post, but I’m tired of seeing this game, which is kinda good, get destroyed every time because IMC only tip toes the real issues while damaging the honest players.

Programmers do different things.

Call it program, coding, whatever it’s the technical term

  • The software is probably under development, have you asked IMC personally from a ticket?
  • “Add a program” is not like downloading skype. So it takes more than 10 minutes. Probably more than 10 days.
  • I dont think IMC in America has been given a large enough budget for this. So i wishfully hope there will be one of those anticheat sometime soon.
  • Then again if you check games like B&S are plagued by bots, with an anticheat software.

So…

Yeah.
I wish it was simpler than it is but it isnt, people are driven to cheating because games are made repetitive, then people complain about this and people make games hard so people bot for this reason.

MFW

These people worked with Ragnarok Online, which was already a bot infested game, but at least there they didn’t screw much with players trying to fight them.

So, this time, instead of finding a way to block bots they decided to dance around while pretending to do something worthwhile. People who use bots don’t spend time looking at the screen while the bot is farming, they are doing other stuff. So it only damages honest players in the end.

Obviously to create such program takes time, but it begs the question why didn’t they create one before launching the game. The point of IMC of America being "Low budget is also not excusable. Why? did they built the game from scratch or did they localize it? KTOS already existed before the western got it, so the game and its programs/codings/whatever already existed and simply got translated by IMC of America. It means that main IMC corporation didn’t bother adding a program/code/whatever to block btos either when they created the game, so your fund point become mute.

True.

But in the end I can’t blame the company as much as i blame the botters themselves. It isn’t something i directly understand so its just my idea with the amount of understanding I have.

But you’re right, obviously IMC didnt prepare for this right. They are having to work around the clock for this and I hope it all comes up right :3

I still don’t know if it will be fixed with a program of sorts, hence my last point in my first post.

Its a problem on both ends.

Its a industry issue as a whole and consumers who buy from them keep them running.

Meh, even WoW ended up losing to botters and had to fricken file lawsuits against bot makers.

IMC is just a small company. Botters are basically a cancer and there is no cure. All you can do is treat it and hope it doesn’t spread and eventually kill your game.

Botters continuously evolve to circumvent any restrictions or detection programs that game companies try to create. A large company like Blizzard can afford to pay white hat hackers to constantly look for security holes in their game, then they respond by patching those and it ends up being an endless battle that costs way too much money for a small developer to deal with.

That’s why botting is out of control in a lot of these games. What can you do? When an account is banned in a free to play game, it costs nothing to remake your account. This means free to play games would have a much larger problem with this than a game that charges you to play even subscription or buy the game or both.

So it’s just going to be an endless battle where the people banned lose nothing for it.
