This deal isn't so bad

Though it’s not like f2p players asked you to fund the game for them.

So while you sit your ass thinking you are way above f2p players just because you voluntarily gave your money to some shady company (which probably is 99% for your own benefit alone), f2p players will literally be laughing at you.

Boo fkin hoo.

6 hours… less than 1 day. Good deal to me.

Well for now the f2p players seem to all be crying and whining, not laughing. I am paying 50$ for a game, what’s so weird about that? I get that you might have never paid for games before, but some people do actually buy games.

Speaking of shady companies, do you know the living conditions of workers who make most components for the computers that all of us gamers use? Yeah. Be aware that you are giving MUCH more than 50$ to companies that are MUCH more shady than IMC games, and everyone does so on a daily basis.

The bait is real. You can’t be serious.

Yes, thanks for testing this mess for us, F2P players. Eagerly awating June.

Most of these questions will luckily be answered as soon as the first wave of founders buys the game. Yes, I agree that they communicated poorly since no one was really expecting a 3 months early access. But at the end of the day, people who want the game for free will get it for free eventually, and people who want the game right away and really want to help fund the game to make it even better will get to do so.

I intended to buy EA, btw =) Do you guys really think that our one time $50 so important for dev? You think IMC would earn on shop less that on EA, especially in long terms? I’m really sick of that “we will pay money for develop game for you” ■■■■. Don’t be an ignorant assholes, you (and me as well) will pay because of hurry to start playing ToS, that’s all - simple and true =)

$50 not important? lol wut

thank you, last sentence summed it all

50$ for each person who wants to play the game in early access is a lot of money. Just in the forum poll there were around 900 people who said they would buy the game for 50$, and that is 45 000$. And since a lot more people are going to pay for it than just the 800 who answered a forum poll, you can expect for than 100k profit from this. If every MMO player on average gave 50$ to the game during its lifetime, MMOs would be a lot more lucrative than they already are.

Also no, “we” aren’t just paying the 50$ to get to play the game earlier, you are. I would have given them at least 20$ in donations if they had a donation button and I wasn’t interested in anything the cash shop offered and the game was free from the start. Basically, some of us actually wanted to financially reward IMC games for making this game.

basically ur just trying it out ur not helping the game it self if u will leave after 3 months so in other words ur not a long term solution to help this game stay alive…

I’m a consumer, not a producer. It’s not up to me to solve anything. If the game turns out to be a success, I will stick around for longer because why not? The bottom line is, $50 is worth the bot-free environment alone.

You’re living in a fantasy land if you think it’ll be bot-free.

Yeah, the solution to bots is not a paywall, it’s active enforcement and strategies by the game-runners. I’ve only seen one online game without bots, and that’s because the people running the game put effort in.

It’s not guaranteed but it will reduce botting significantly.

Most bots come from China, and $50 or 300 yuan is A LOT of money. like 1/5 of their monthly salary. People have committed crimes for $50 over there. I doubt most of them would invest that much money in such a risky business.

Example:

Botfarm buys 200 accounts: 10000$
Botfarm gets 50% banned: -5000$

The same with exploit users / hackers.

No sane person will keep buying the game when they keep getting banned.

This is why CS:GO has so many problems with hackers: the game only costs 5~10$.

So yes you need active enforcement, but a paywall helps as well.

BDO has just launched it has botters/gold sellers. the only time you get rid of them is when the game is close to dying. every popular mmo will have botters/exploiters.

Uh, you’re missing the part where the bots sell the things they earned.

Ofcourse, I’m not denying that, I’m just saying every bit counts, and a paywall helps.

That’s where active banning would come in, ban them before they make profit, and I have no idea what IMC’s stance or position is in that matter.
