Things To Keep In Mind On Tuesday

Now, it’s not the first rodeo for some of us, but for some of you this might be your first time attending an MMO at launch. There are some things to keep in mind so you don’t go nuts.

You’re worried that something can go wrong? It will. No MMO I’ve seen or heard about has had a spotless launch. No matter how many people there were in the FGT, alphas or betas, there will always be a bug that gets missed. So, don’t burn the forums down when stuff is found now that there’s suddenly a lot more people in-game.

Relax. Be patient. These things will be fixed. Just try to have fun and if you can be bothered: fill out a report for that bug that you want squished.

I’ve been to a few launches with mixed results. Guild Wars 2? It had enemies resetting, during combat, and becoming invincible while they went back to their original position. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes had… a lot more to mention. Aion… had a neat character creator? Though, you’d get disconnected at random during the worst time while using it. These things were all fixed. I mean, they shut down Vanguard. That’s not the point.

TL;DR It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. Don’t panic. IMC will fix things and you won’t be the only one that hits that bump in the road. This is an MMO. Enjoy!

Well, I still have to work so not too worried. Sure i will get to play as i anticipated. But…

Vanguard’s mention, while you said not the point about it being shut down, is a very good point. Vanguard’s issues were never fixed because the real issues were inherent to the game engine itself and how it was built/adapted.

You really should not forgo that point, because it supports the one you’re trying to make! That things will happen and to be down to earth with expectations over what is bumps rather than an actual roadblock.
