Tree of Savior Forum

These forums need moderators

Seriously this has to be one of the worst forums ive seen. every single person who cant afford or agree on the founder’s package finds it necessary to post his own useless little thread to complain about it which immediately turns into a war between founders and non-founders. all this ■■■■ needs to be merged into a single thread so we can actually enjoy talking about what’s most important in this section… the GAME itself.

yes it sucks you will have to wait 3 months till you can play it, and you have the right to voice your opinion. but i’d either mail IMC directly or just post in the other 100 already existing threads with this same topic.

Finally someone noticed.

They’re hiding from the mess they made!
But man what a mess this forums has become and yet we still have to wait for any response from them either.

Be glad we have the flagging system. The community can at least moderate itself to a degree with it.

Besides, if they decided to delete all of those ‘complaint’ threads, people would start saying IMC is doing damage-control to prevent new users from seeing anything negative about their company.

They just need to deal with all the people who are being heavily aggressive towards each other. That is against CoC; yet there is no repercussions because of the lack of active moderation. Especially around these times where there is tension between the community. The fires of war are hot tonight.

No need to lock threads unless it’s full of hateful and aggressive attacks. Slap those twats around a good bit is what they need to do honestly.

I thought we had moderators. IMC lied, again.

We do. They just don’t do active moderation. At least not in the terms I would use.

Right, and I have seen their post history. I just have never seen them in any thread I’ve participated in. Not even a sense of their presence like deleted posts, or the like.

I have no idea what the internet is like in Korea, but I get the feeling based on this forum that they value self-moderation more than active moderation.

this forum was great and calm like an empty forest…

then IMC send someone with a torch…

now all you can see is flames, smoke and screams

Calm down, Bambi…

What they actually need to do is get competent users from forum itself.
Like, everyone does this, when a new forum opens up.

Why didn’t they do it in the first place I have no idea.

That’s usually a bad idea. You never know how a guy will act under certain privileges.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

That’s why I said competent.

There is also a testing period, of course.

fire them when they misbehave.

Well, forum promotion settings may differ here compared to the defaults, but you can try self-promoting to Regular. I’d try it myself, but I’m not about to read through 25% of all Posts made in the last 3 months. If one of you do it, you’ll be able to move threads and instant-nuke new member posts (That are inappropriate) with only one flag, with flag limits removed:

Regular (3)

Regulars are the most active readers and reliable contributors over long
periods of time.

They can get to trust level 3 by…

This is time and activity based, unlike the previous levels. In the last
100 days…

  • must have visited at least 50% of days
  • must have replied to at least 10 different topics
  • of topics created in the last 100 days, must have viewed 25%
  • of posts created in the last 100 days, must have read 25%
  • must have received 20 likes, and given 30 likes.*
  • must not have received more than 5 spam or offensive flags (with
unique posts and unique users for each, confirmed by a moderator)
  • must not have been suspended

* These likes must be across a minimum number of different users (1/5
the number), across a minimum number of different days (1/4 the number).
Likes cannot be from PMs.

All of these must be true.

Unlike other trust levels, you can lose trust level 3 status. If you dip
below these requirements, whether from flagging or the passage of time,
you will be demoted to Member. However, in order to avoid constant
promotion/demotion situations, there is a 2-week grace period
immediately after gaining Trust Level 3 during which you will not be
demoted.

Users at trust level 3 can

  • recategorize and rename topics
  • access a private “frequent flier’s lounge” category only visible to
users at trust level 3 and higher
  • have all their links followed (we remove automatic
    nofollow
    )
  • spam flags cast on TL0 user posts immediately reach the action
    threshold
  • make their own posts wiki (that is, editable by any TL1+ users)
  • Daily like limit increased by 2 ×

It’s better than having absolutely 0 moderation…

I’d have to say no one who posted within 24 hours if thats the case.

Interesting.

If I can create more topics, I can actually try this already, I think.
