They don’t hate swordsmen. It is just that swordsman is the most difficult class to balance in the arpg scene that is dominated by any sort of ranged class.
Give a bit too much power and you will have things like the washing-machine barb in D3 vanilla. Give too little and you have what we have now in ToS. There is a plethora of ideas on how to improve swordsman here :3
Sh!t starts hitting the fan at R6+, unless you’re dopel and want to PVE solely.
get to high level and come here again, i play swordsman since beta and it was always bad
right now i’m leveling a pure pve doppel cus thats probably the only thing u can do beside going full tank or cata pvp meta
EDIT:Fencers are getting pretty good with R8, if they manage to make rodelero skills work with fencer new instance ill realy consider making one

why do I feel like am going to get the same generic response no matter if am lvl 300 or 1000
funny cause am making a full doppel too and am going 2:1 dex:str 
and still think people cry harder than they should…

theres fencer, doppel, cata pvp meta and full tank, i dont see any other build. maybe sword3>rodelero3>something>lancer work as a pvp build too
stop going dex and go only STR =)

Not that great in PvE due to no pelt, but PvP is so awesome I stopped levelling my other chars and concentrated on a swordsman.
get barb 1 or corsair 1 (if u are more pvp guy) dont take squire 1 o.O
true, ur build, with restrain buff and max hook, is good for pvp, R8 u get shinobi and u can be invisible too, but its not good if u want pve
but check the new card system, if u get hit once by any archer or wizard u will be silenced/sleep for 4 secs =/
None of those break hook anyway so xDD
yeah xD i have a corsair, hook is pretty strong, specially if u can use shinobi invisibility to get close range, hook and kill with hexen dropper / spear lunge
but u are still one trick pony and if u miss ur hook, ur fcked =/.
and clerics still do more dmg than swordsman, with healing and safety zone skills in the first 2 ranks and more invincibility skills coming with R8
clerics, wiz, archers can do more dmg at distance and have better suport/utility, thats the big deal =/
i hope that, with the new “swordsman only armor” they are making we can be tanky enough to use all ur skils and dont need to keep runing from bosses all the time so we dont get one shoted

am not interested in pvp actually…
not cause I don’t like it…
but because my game burst into flames every time I attempt to spectate or join 
and I like squire for when I afk :\
i’m going full pve and barb1, really, don’t go squire 1. weapon buff is useless unles its lvl 15 and repair is cheaper at NPC (unles its high level). its easier just level a pelt3>squire3 if u want something to AFK (but high level u get a lot of money) also, barb 1 is going to combo with doppel c3 very well
