Theory Crafting + Build Compendium

No problem! Feel free to ask as many questions as you’d like, these forums are definitely the place for that anyways :sunny:

Here’s a fun one

Archer - QS - Sapper - Sapper - Sapper - SR

The kiting machine!

Run around and drop traps.

Aggro mobs and run back (into your minefield) while firing at em.

??

Profit.

Scatter caltrops to slow them for easier kiting. Use Punji Stakes and Fulldraw to stack enemies for a Collar Bomb.

You could take Detonate Traps instead of one of the other traps, but that takes all the fun out of ringing monsters to death. Since it blows up nearby traps, you’d have to be somewhat close to the enemy for this to be effective (and you’d have to be in the middle of a gathered mob to hit enough of them). Probably better for anyone going Scout/Rogue.

Well instead of min-maxing for the most DPS I went with the fun-factor as well as Battle Field Control.

Swordsman Builds:

Army Breaker Cataphract

-This build is probably going to be my main Swordsman, it maybe the fastest Character on field being mounted and relies on controlling the battlefield by being the on the frontline. With the skill Rush this character can break Centurion formations, the Steed Charge can break shields and this build helps with opening ways trough waves of enemies.
It has a touch of hoplite to maximize the spear effectiveness.

Spear Squire

-This build is for the Squire that may be requested during big dungeons, the Squire is kind of an wild card so I put a Hoplite build because I like Spears, but everything before can be changed to your tastes.

Captain America

-This one otimizes the shield with most effectiveness being a complete tank in a Petalsta-Rodelero combo. It paralyzes, crowd-controls when needed and has Defense up the whazoo!

The Captain

-This is a Corsair one in hopes that there are more Sub-Weapon focused classes in the future. It has Barbarian for the Frenzy and jumps and two Swordies for tha passives. The Corsair hook is what makes this class cool to me.

Wizard Builds:

Pyro-Sorcerer

-Not a lot of Pyros in the forum so this is to warm it up a bit. It has the classic fire DPS and the cool Fire Pillar along with a Fire ball that everyone can knock around also the Enchant fire to help the party. Then a pitch of Elementalist for more Deeps and to close it with a golden key The Sorcerer for thos long lonely griding nights.

Best Friend Wiz

-This one is for your Swordsman Bro/Babe. It’s a Linker-Thaumaturge combination using the Links to allow the Swordie to hit all the mobs with a Hand the size no amount of “private time” will give you. The Thauma enlarges both hands for maximum effectivenes. The perfect Duo for a ToS valentine’s Grind.

Necrophiliac Psycopath

-A Psychokino is a lot of fun so put in a Necromancer you have a doozy gathering corpses for you monsters, and the CC helps a lot at parties.

CryNomancer

CC,CC and CC some more! Freeze and stop then freeze again, ain’t nobody touching this mage’s cool bod unless invited! Good for AoE battles and to piss your opponent’s off, you can have the second Cryo circle 2 for Psycho so you can be extra unkillable with teleport!

Archer Builds:

Nuke Falconer

-I always loved falcons and this is probably gonna be my archer class of choice, It has 3 circles of Ranger for the AoE effectiveness, Fires through lines, Explodes enemies and combos well with a Psychokino and also a touch of Fletcher for the cool arrow effects.

The Trapper

-The capabilities of the Schwarze Reiter has me questioning this build so it can be traded with Falconer it seems the archer builds are difficult since they differ in weapons and pets!
This build uses almost everything that can be placed on the ground, It has the Quarrel Shooter for the Shields and 3 circes of sapper so you can sit down and let’ em come! It is a cost heavy build though so have a Dievdwhatsit to help you with wood.

Sneaky Bastard

-This one was especially fun to make, it’s full of options for Fun stuff, it’s the first time I could put a Hunter and make it be effective, It’s a Hunter-Scout-Rogue build, it utilizes your Pet as a distraction and main DPS while you sneak around the battlefield picking targets off!

Death Adder

-Poison is pretty cool to play around and the Wugushi delivers, full of AoE and on hit DPS it’s pretty straight foward poisoning from the backline and watching your enemies rot!

Cleric Builds:

Wood Paladin

-I like paladins, but even more it’s Barrier and conversion skill, it has a touch of Dievdwhatchamawhozzit for the warps and SP buffs! A tank in it’s core and immortal with the power of the light!

Astral Monk

-Cleric’s divine might really breaks the heart of the Priest and Krivis class, this build has Krivis for the Daino skill that let’s you have more buffs ín ther party, but the important combo is the Sadbu-Monk. The spirit is much faster than the body so it uses the skill as a Gap-closer for the monk to stay in range of his enemies, it also has good tanking capabilities.

Zombie Salesman

-Hey chap! Ever wanted your own army of the dead!? Well you are in luck, just come on in and buy some scrolls will ya? Thhe Build focuses on selling scrolls such as Divine Might, heals and Zombies so everyone can have some Undead FUN!

Girlfriend

-For your grilfriend that doesn’t like killing the cute little monsters we have this build! So much heals and buffs that you might as well be an addict now! And of course the Oracle so you can see ALL THE LEWTS!

So that’s it, 16 builds with fun, effectiveness, Dynamic Duo possibilites, DPS, support, AOE, Tanking and selling taken into account! Wow 2 hours of building.

Oh it’s orgasmicly cool, the problem is that I won’t be able to do it all so posting here maybe I will see some of these babies on the server.

I was thinking yesterday about this, so i was testing builds (For archer and 1 full tank)

Sorry to rain on your parade, the Hunter/Falconer doesnt work you can only have one pet out T.T

u.u Thanks for tell me

In all seriousness, thanks for the build @Loriciferica , I’m probably going to try something quite similar.
Might end up as a Falconer instead of SR though, Hanging shot seems to be a cool option too.

The reviewer Steparu did a build similar to this one,He said it was hard to do everything since you have to change weapons to be a QS and SR at the same time, and SR functions better Mounted, then you have to unmount (alt+down) to detonate a trap, Alt+z to change weapons to put a QS pavise and every trap costs to make, He said he didn’t like it you can see he review on his site.

IMC mentioned something about allowing skills to be used with a wider variety of weapons, so this may not be the case in the future.

you forgot to use one of the most OP debuffs: Austras Koks

Forgive me, i come from a time where bosses were immune against all status ailments. But thanks, i will incorporate that!

I sure hope so. <20 chars!>

I wasn’t aware that you could silence bosses.

I’m really hoping this changes in the future, what fun is a boss fight when the boss can’t use skills D: ?

In the future (When the beta actually arrive) it would be nice if we had subcategories to at least each initial class (Swordsman, Wizard, Archer and Cleric) and post our builds there, making it a little bit more organized.

BTW I really liked your iniciative!

Great idea! If they do add subcategories for each base class, this can be separated for better organization.
It’s already getting quite full, which is great

I love these builds! However, I would like to point out that these are CBT2 builds. Keep this in mind people. Skills might change - and probably will - by the time we’re in the IBT. Also, when higher rank classes come out, it might be much more prudent to invest in some class circles that would otherwise get in the way of a rank 5-6 (aka “end-game” for CBT2) class. Also, according to the treeofsaviorgame wiki, there are some skills left unmentioned, such as this incredibly useful scout skill: Be Prepared.

What I’m saying is, I love the tosbase skill simulator as much as anyone else, but just take it all with a grain of salt.

With each update, I’ll update the thread to support CBT 3 and beyond  If people that posted a build also keep their builds up-to-date it’ll be reflected in the OP.

Here are some of the Cleric builds I thought of.

Divine Might Monk (Monk skill levels subject to change)

This build is heavily based on lowering the enemies defense using Deprotected Zone, as well as bursting the enemy using Divine Might to buff yourself before unleashing high damage skills like Sunrays Hands. Having a Psycokino pulling together crowds for you to debuff and then burst can be very helpful.
Safety Zone, Ironcloth and Golden Bell Shield give this build tanking potential, Sabdu gives you the mobility to get out of tough situations (when your defensive skills are on cooldown), as well as another burst skill. You may also use the AoE debuff, in cases where your party is fighting huge groups of strong enemies. Combine with Safety Zone for added, well, safety.

This build is intended to be more offensively minded, however whether or not any Monk build is actually higher in DPS than the other 3 archetypes, I cannot say. With the high cooldowns, and no real ability to deal the same damage as the swordsman class when using autoattacks, it might be more viable to build a more balanced Monk, with the ability to deal damage AND support. A very good example of such a build is @Sharp’s Astral Monk, where he chooses Krivis over Circle 2+3 Cleric.

Another thing to consider: Picking up Dievdirbys (the Carver class) over Circle 3 Cleric can directly tackle the cooldown problems as well as potential SP issues of this build. That being said, you will have to sacrifice 5 levels of Divine Might, Safety Zone and Deprotected Zone, so having a dedicated “Carver” in your party is probably a better idea.

The Carver

As suggested by the name, this build takes up all 3 Circles of Dievdirbys and for those who played RO, this is literally the reincarnation of the Bard/Dancer classes, just with wooden carved statues instead of songs…

For the first 2 ranks, it is imperative that you cap Safety Zone and Daino. Safety Zone will be useful for carving mid-combat, as carving takes a while and will leave you vulnerable. Daino is important, because the buff cap in ToS seems to be 5. (Do correct me if I am wrong)
As many builds in ToS come with many selfbuffs already (especially Swordsman builds), they would have to give up on certain buffs, to take advantage of ours. (Unless the statue auras are not considered buffs, but I highly doubt that)

Core skills of the Dievdirbys class for this build are Carve Zemina and Carve Laima for the cooldown and SP usage reduction auras. Carve Austras Koks and Carve Ausrine are more situational skills, the AoE silence of Carve Austras Koks can potentially be very useful against crowds of caster type enemies, whereas Carve Ausrine will probably find more use against bosses who have strong, slow-charging AoEs.

Finally, as Rank 6 class, I picked Oracle to further establish the support role of this build. Arcane Energy gives your party a max SP/STA buff, Counter Spell could potentially be a really useful defensive spell against AoE spells. The real game-changer for the Oracle class however, is Forecast, as it enables telegraphs for normally non-telegraphed attacks, making harder boss fights much easier, given you and your party have the ability to dodge, of course. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

(No longer (see next paragraph)) potential problems for the Carver: At the moment, I don’t know, how many statues you can actually put up at the same time. Depending on the answer to that question and how long those statues actually last (essentially, whether the duration is greater than the cooldown or not), I might have to revise this build to only utilize either cooldown reduction or SP cost reduction.

Kudos to @vegax87 for pointing out (see under ‘Replies’), that it is possible to use at least 3 statues at once. :+1:
