Theory Craft Pure Spear Shield Build R8 Murmillo

Sw1>Pelt>Hop2>Rodello2>Shinobi>Murmillo

This is the pure spear shield build that no one takes later in the game, since most classes go two handed spear or one hand spear with dagger.

This build is a mix of burst and dps due to Murmillo buff on spear and shield together with shinobi. (Cassis Crista+Bunshin+Spear Lunge+Synchro thrusting?)

Dodge for a high base dex and guardian attribute.

Stat distribution would be 50 con all dex.

Biggest Dilemma is Rodello 3 (High Kick) vs Shinobi (Bunshin Synchro)? There is a lot of pros and cons for on what path should R7 be in this build.

I think taking Rod C3 over Hop C2 would be better.

You’re missing out on another 100% Strike boost, High Kick, and probably the strongest skill on a Murm-nobi, Shooting Star (I didn’t do the math so I could be wrong).

Hoplite c2 for spear lunge (Pierce bonus damage) and 100% uptime of finestra. The debate for me is going shinobi or Rodello 3.
Is the damage boost coming from Murmillo on Rodello skills with high kick outweigh the damage from shinobi?
Rodello 3 gives only damage boost on strike skills, the main purpose of most people getting Rodello was for its defensive skills which Rodello 2 sufficiently gives.

That was before the changes made to Shooting Star.

The following are not included in this computation and could affect the outcome:

If you want better uptime on Finestra (51s/50s) or (51s/56s with attribute), you could just use Zega Spear and bind them both on the same key. Someone posted a guide on how to do it in these forums.
