The Renegade Lamb [Taoist and Miko]

I am the fiber of my talisman.
Paper is my body, ink is my blood.
I have spent millions on attribute upgrades.
Not known to buffs.
Nor known to debuffs. (Gohei lol)
I have withstood pain to grind a Cleric class.
Yet these hands will never be a support.
So as I pray, UNLIMITED CHARM WORKS.

lame jokes aside, this build will run on my INT Cleric with 72 SPR. I don’t know (yet) how screwed I am, but here’s the synergies that I’ve thought of:

  1. Zaibas and Storm Calling. We all know the infamous, Cleric carrying capacity of an INT based Zaibas. Storm Calling brings Zaibas into 500% for 1k silver a pop. I am aware that these pops will accumulate fast and make me broke HARD. That is why I wish to offset this by making every pop worth its kill.
  2. Houki Broom + Divine Might = +2 levels of everything I lay on the floor, mainly Zaibas, Charms, SZ, Heals, Cures, and Hamayas
  3. My rotation is Heal>Cure>SC>Zaibas>Hamaya>repeat. Mandatory 100% uptime buffs are Bless, Aspersion, Divine Might, and Stigma. The priest is basically there for Res.
  4. What sealed the deal for me was Dark Sight which basically is AoE Fade with a long duration. On solo I can Aukuras into Fade but this thing is made for party purpose. Ground damage like Caltrops or Carnivory are nulled inside this AoE (!!!) but other things will snipe you like a **** though, so I think this is more PvE side. (Which is sad because this support doesn’t have anything for PvP aside from almighty all dispelling Gohei)

Now there are quite a few problem caused by an assortment of things namely:

  1. My botched INT/SPR hybrid. My Zaibas will hurt less, my heals will heal less, and my Blessing will be lukewarm. On a scale of 1 to 10 how screwed do you think I am? Any idea to circumvent it?
  2. The Priest and the Miko are arguably the weakest chains in the link. Priest is there for res sake and Miko is replaceable. Should I switch these out for the more traditional, time-tested, Druid C2? Doing so gives me Sterea Trofh and Telepath but I’ll lose res and Miko’s grab bag goodies though.
  3. So far Clap has only been proven to work on Diev’s statues (again I don’t support this favoritism IMC) but I don’t think charms are magic circle based. Do Clap works on Taoist’s charms? (if not, then there’s still Hamaya and Broom which are pretty solid)
  4. Going Krivis C3 for Taoist is THE norm huh? Guess you can’t ask much more for a support-DPS. If any of you guys happen to find some new ground breaking synergy with Tao please post it here~

Kriv3 > Priest > Miko > Taoist is actually a pretty good build, definitely working for ET. Priest 1 main selling point is only the Resurrection. Miko is a great one-circle wonder. Don’t ditch it. Right now you don’t have status removal, which Miko brings. Kagura Dance is also a nice support skill that will make melee dps hit harder.

Granted you don’t need the SPR in this build because you’re not a Priest3 (Stoneskin), but I’d say the build will work just fine. Also, IIRC clap extends the duration of Storm Calling.

Clap only extends Diev statues, Aukuras, Capella and Corpse Tower (so far). Doesn’t extend any of Taoist charms.

Is this true? I mean, forgive my ignorance but I have a suspicion since fade is now “fixed” to doesn’t nullify damage anymore unless ofc, you have tested.

  1. Cleric C2 heal tiles 10 x 2 overheat is all you need. You are able to heal one party enough no matter what is your stat.
  2. Priest 1 is not mandatory. Are you doing uphill or ET regularly? If yes, it’s required. Miko is one class wonder ATM don’t skip it.
  3. See cleodora’s answer. Non diev will usually choose broom or hamaya
  4. not normal but doesn’t mean it’s not good. it’s just common sense that storm calling + zaibas is too strong. not going krivis will miss that
  5. so does inquisitor with wheels

damage can be covered with attributes and spend more on gears.

random off-talk: one of JP voice pack has Kyu-Kyu Nyo Ritsu Ryo. And I suspect taoist has this. Anyone have tried which skills?

Fade is fixed? I didn’t know ground immunity is not intended (screw you IMC, gimp all the rest of us will ya?) but I did see a kToS video on youtube showing that.
2. Nah, no attachment to Priest anymore here. Miko is definitely bae and will pick up even if it costs me 2.5 hours of pressing spacebar (good God this quest design is awful I hope anyone who came up with this got fired)
3. Yeah I guess I’ll leave Clap at 1 or 0 since those same Diev or anyone in this meta for that matter probably have Miko too.
4. I’m interested in being the ultimate snowflake, so I’m considering reworking the build to incorporate Sadhu and/or Bokor. But I can see why the class is not popular, for one they have little synergy with anything and their skills are buggy as fuk. (I haven’t used my rank reset lol, still got 5 more days!)
5. Then is Cleric R8 fated to be broke? Well at least Inquis have MM to work with (dem Chaplains AAs) or BW (hitting dem wheels for DEX build or the really vengeful Chaplains)

Well if you take Taoist, yes you’re going to be a big hole in your wallet, sadly seems like if you take Krivis up to C3 you MUST take Taoist at R8… otherwise you’re left with Zaibas that will scale off and deal less dmg in later content because isn’t being boosted my Storm Calling…

I’ve a similar dilemma where I want to play Miko so much but I’ve to choose between Diev C3 or Krivis C3, if I choose Diev I’ll (maybe) need to pick Inquisitor at R8 and if I pick Krivis I’ll need to choose Taoist, with Diev I’ll have to waste money in Daino Scrolls (though pretty situational but still) and with Taoist burning my wallet even faster.

Oh the dilemma, I was even thinking picking Krivis at R7 with Diev just for the sake of Daino and not wasting money, but might be too much of a waste for a R7, not sure…

I play the same build, but a bit of skill allocation.
1 This build I don’t prefer SPR, because both meltis and kagura are %sp consume. Less max sp more effective for potion.
2 resurrection is nice in party play, blessing for priest1 won’t increase much raw dmg, but for double dmg from healing bomb is nice when soloing. miko hamaya hit flying and no hit count limit which is good vs group enemies(I can solol uphill to stage15-20 because of hamaya)

4 Mostly, but another choice is possible, not all krevis3 are for zaibas dmg, some krevis3 build are for meltis(I had seen somepeople go krevis3priest3 for buff slave, and some go krevis3 diev3 for two in one austrine+meltis too)
5 I rarely use taorist skill, except hard content like doing practo quest when lv 317 where mob over level, those daily content such as mission, sallus, dungeon I think it’s fine without using taorist charm.

Taoist’s Dark Sight will protect you from magic circles yes (tested about a week ago).
