Tree of Savior Forum

The real reason we might never get the option to trade

I been reading a lot of the threads and from what I seen the pure focus for people who are trying to get trade back is that it’s not stopping RMTs and botters at all and it’s just hurting the majority of the player base.

Even though this is completely true a lot of you seem to be missing the main problem. Which is due to the design flaw of tree of savior, people who bot have near infinite silver and items. Go look at the bots farming in the popular maps and you will see them having a better gear than you. 20 bots walking in a line all with Arde Dagger.

Imagine what would happen if we could trade? The second that is made possible the market would literally crash. Everything that you work hard for is meaningless. That Arde Dagger that you got from a cube that made you happy as fk? That feeling will be gone because that dagger wouldn’t be worth a ■■■■.

But wait…wouldn’t that be a good thing? Everything will be cheap right? Not necessary, in these type of games people need a certain level of challenge. We need a goal that we want to reach and a level of satisfaction of reaching that goal.

This game can’t survive with leveling being our only goal. This game can’t survive if silver and items aren’t worth anything. I think IMC realized this and this was the only solution they could come up with.

I personally would love to have the ability to trade again. I just want to point this fact out so people stop making the same threads about how they aren’t actually stopping RMT/BOTS but instead focus on a solution on the real problem that will come up if trading was available.

Yes because we all know how trading has been a place for literally every other MMORPG for the last 20 years right? /s

Yeah I’d rather have a more proactive counter-bot measure than lose the option to trade (I’ve have my token btw)

Yes but have you actually paid attention to the most recent f2p MMORPG that has come out with trading?

The 2 most popular f2p mmorpg atm is Blade and Soul and Tera.

Blade and Soul items aren’t worth anything until you’re max level.
Same with Tera.

This option is not possible due to the fact that the cap for ToS is a lot harder to reach than BnS and Tera.

In BnS items that are worth anything are cap by hard 5-10 man dungeons that you need to do and even then they have made bots to do those dungeons.

In Tera anything you make early game doens’t matter at all until you’re max level. There are still bots that bot crafting items.

Both these games are actually heavily controlled by RMT and normally the richest in those servers are related to the black market in some way. People who RMT end up getting an even bigger advantage since they normally have infinite mats to upgrade their gear.

Tree of savior can’t have the same system as those games for obvious reasons. Let me know if you can think of a better solution so we can actually add trading back into the game.

It’s almost impossible to completely combat bots/hacks.

For example one of the most funded esports game CS:GO still can’t combat hackers even though they spend millions trying to upgrade their security. It will always be an ongoing war but it’s unrealistic for them to just “improve” their security to stop bots since that’s not really possible. There will always be a way to bypass most security.

Look at FBI hacking apple iphone.
Look at CS:GO or any other popular games that actually have way more funding than ToS. Those games can’t even combat hackers/bots either.

How about adding a system like WoW? Where items become SoulBound and you can’t trade them if you wore them once? This should help evening the market a little bit. I know we lose “Potential” right now but making items SouldBound seems like a better solution?

Currently Tera has this system and it somewhat help. The only way in Tera atm for users to trade their end-game gear is to buy a cash shop item that let’s you trade the item for one time.

There is also soulbound on pickup so that the only way to earn end game gear is to actually run dungeons yourself. The issue here is that this system still punish the majority of the players while still having problems when it comes to the influx of everything else due to bots.

Even if items can only be traded once as long that it can be traded then the bots can farm them.

If we make it bound on pickup then the players won’t be able to trade them which makes the loot less valuable to get. It will probably decrease the feel of actually playing a multiplayer game even more.

Honestly I been thinking about this quite a bit. The only idea I can come up with is to actually focusing more on people who actually buy silver so that there are less demand.

We have certain level of requirement that you need to complete in order to trade.

  1. Maybe a string of quest that are made that bots can do(A quest with some sort of RNG puzzle or something like that).

  2. A semi-high level requirement so that the people who are going to risk RMT will put a big risk on their account.

  3. Post a clear guideline with harsh punishment on those are RMTing(Ip-ban, perm ban, etc)

Another solution would be to create a buddy system where you can trade if you have a certain amount of interaction with someone.

If you are trading with someone you have a lot of interaction with you can trade right away.

If you don’t then you have to wait a grace period depending on the value of the item you’re trading.

This is all just rough ideas but just things that I been thinking about for fun.

I don’t see what’s the point of this thread. Even with our current situation, there’s no stopping if the bots really want to sell all the arde daggers that they have and crash our market.

Simply put, this thread is pointless.

You should try reading if you don’t see the point of the thread.

AFAIK Item that already trade once be it from token trade, market, team warehouse can’t be trade anymore.
so bots can’t trade their arde dagger, unless they get in from dungeon.
is there already bots can do dungeon ?

I’m not sure but with the current hacks that they have I can see them doing the dungeons. Since they seem to have infinite range on their attacks can’t they just clear the dungeon from a safe distance?

I did, still pointless.

@NasiBubur
You still can, as long as it has potential. I’ve resell things that I bought from market, unless I was dreaming.

Just because you don’t have the basic intelligence to understand my post doesn’t make it pointless.

With the current restrictions right now there is no reason for the botters to flood the market because there no reliable way to actually transfer the items that they have.

You can easily check in one second the price of Arde Daggers right now to see that it is as high as it ever been.

If you want to spam post with one liners there are plenty of babyrage threads you can go to.

Let’s have real discussion in this thread where you actually need to think before you post.
