The optimization is real!

Well… I used to play with ~5fps on World Bosses fight… but now I’m playing with almost 6!!! That’s great, thanks IMC

Check

its because you are alone try it on fedimian ch 1 and tell me

From 8 fps to 10 fps in Klaipeda, thats awesome. At least now i can open the map.

Well i dont know what you expected. They did say the only place they tested it was in office. So may be a 100 people test.
The problem it not tbe game alone its the bad netcode.

IMC is gonna read the title of this thread and think that their optimizations actually helped when MVPing.

Their testing only considered cases with a minimum fps of 15-20 when the real problem is when the game has a minimum fps of 5 during MVPs…

It did help, but I don’t think the meassures they’re taking towards outdoor bosses is going to help at all.
In crowded (As in, lots of mobs, maybe 15-20 and about 5 players areas) I used to get around 20 FPS. Now I am getting 45-60 FPS. So that is a pretty solid improvement.

But for an outdoor boss, they need to reduce the number of things happening around the boss.
Such as hidding players (Make them invisible/don’t process them; give us a slider to limit the amount of players around us ourselves – or make it so you can only see guildmates/party members as an option).

Processing 50+ players is going to lag you to death in just about any MMO, except maybe GW2, where they have a system in place similar to the one I am describing (Player details and spell effects other than your party’s drop down to 0).

we could use a hide other players models ( outside of grp or guild ) button for world boss.

@Gwenyth that’d help a lot

They should re implement their character visibility slider like they had back in GE. It was really really useful during crowded events.

You can hide almost everybody in a config file inside TOS folder.
user.xml
There you can change DrawActorPersent=“20” to a number of people you want to appear in your screen, 99 is de default i personally use 20.
You can hide monsters too decreasing the value of DrawMonsterPersent=“99” But you dont wanna do that, only players ^^

I hit 60.35 last night! It used to cap at 60!

Player: "WTF, something just one shot me!"
Mob: “huehuehuehue~ :smiling_imp:

This can cause problems with displacement of objects so I opted not to use it.
It helps a tiny bit in some areas but not significant enough for me to justify the bugs/problems it causes (Try setting the DrawActor to 10-20 then go to a crowded channel like Fedi or Klai chan 1 and move around. You’ll notice that the shop signs will follow you around when displaced. This applies to some spells, too. You’ll see them casting constantly around you.
