The most egotistical and scumbag base class

I think the movement part is necessary, it doesn’t appear to “hit” (this could just be the server-client interaction though) as fast under RS when you’re just standing still.

Granted, it’s inexcusable that they have to drag it elsewhere, you can easily do a circular motion (close by) to the mob/boss and it’ll stay where it is.

The movement thing becomes an issue when they drag mobs away, otherwise, they’re fine.

Also don’t forget quest is mostly a solo pve part of the game. Those that want to progress through quest will most definitly pick a dps oriented build since its the most efficient way to clear mobs. Imagine trying to kill mobs to clear quest with 300k+ hp on a full con cryo3 chrono3 sage when rank8 comes out. From what i encountered so far party questing is a pretty rare thing with random players. And since dps builds are wanted in parties anyways, they have a sense of security when it comes to the point when they have to party. Thats probably why you see alot of elememes, can solo and needed in grind parties and other end game pve contents. But that was before they announce rank8 don’t know about now though.

Even CS do it better. In teamwork, flying up ladders and make human tower. QS3 only buzz around each other fighting 1st dps ranking. Even till a lvl of stealing all heal tiles when swordsman is the one keeping them safe from aggro

The class that i heal the least are archers not because i refuse to heal them. Its just that most get one shotted way too quickly. They draw aggro then whoosh, they tear like wet toilet paper. Alot of archers don’t put con or have high def gear in the lower levels. Had a party of 4 archers half of them have less than half my hp. The body count in that run is amazing. My heals were almost useless. Tried mack and safety zone but they die to mack’s stacked damage so i just safety zone.

that’s because running around gives more attack speed. :v

@Ynirie , this is the one in my story, of the Dark thread.

Fletcher! because we like those shiny

I think what really hurts most players’ ego is when they get partied with another player who have the same build and/or role as them, and they get out-DPSed or their role is taken.

I’ve witnessed a Pelt/tank intentionally going AFK in a mission and reasoned that he’s doing so because another tank is already taking her role.

I do admit I sorta get irked when someone with the same class build does better but then again I’m not really going glass cannon so getting top dps isn’t something I get a lot of the time. Also I never seen that happen cause I rarely see tanks now a days but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if someone afk’s cause there is another tank taking all the aggro.

Definitely Archers…

They should make their Attacks be it skill or AA consume something so that they will at least think twice before shooting

Right now apart from Fletchers, Wugu, Sapper, etc they will just trigger happy and KS without thinking much as it doesn’t consume anything and there’s no drawback either

Then the only class you mentioned is QS…

I don’t understand the whole ks concept. Melee classes have a smaller range than ranged classes (obviously). Why would it be a ks to hit something within your range? I never heard of a more butthurt word

It seems that you didn’t know KS stands for kill steal. KS got into a whole new level during maple story’s golden age.

I do. I never got KS’d though (or maybe I never thought of it as KS?). Only thing I got is outdps’d when farming with my cleric or rainbow wizzy. Of course that pissed me, but if I’m not built to be a farmer, it’s obvious that someone with a build more oriented to it will be better than me. You just do what you’re best fit to do. If you do other things and don’t get the expected results, there’s no reason to be butthurt.

This is not like LOL where one can time the auto attacks to do the last hit of a mob to get the gold

You need to watch SR c3 grinding. It is like a gatling gun killing everything in sight. Any melee class will instantly depressed till dead. QR3 is just a mini version of it.

I guess one never understand till one really experienced it

I main a SR2. SR3 is only (yeah, only might be too harsh xD) awesome because the SR1 skills are getting better. Assault Fire looks awesome, but it won’t scale as long as it doesn’t get an enhance attribute. If you did see kTOS videos, you’d know maxed Retreat Shot does twice the damage of Assault Fire.

I guess I don’t understand swordies because I won’t ever make one (I dislike that class regardless of the game), but the principle is the same. You’re comparing someone whose role is X against someone with a Y role. That’s wrong

I see… Thanks for the info.

I don’t want to argue this matter as it has been repeated said till an uncontrollable level. (Are they feminists group?)
Currently, only kunai+clone and dethrone really helps sw range problem. Nobody can really set sw role to be dps, tank, meat shield or taunt slave.

Reading this thread tempt me to write something. I thought it would be a rant thread but it’s not that bad. So here’s my POV based on my experience since i play 3 diff classes.( IT’LL BE LONG)

[details=Summary]

Cleric:
Kay, 2nd class that i play. when i play this, i choose to be priest. since i didnt try cbt, i didnt know there is a max buff count so i just spam some of my skills. well after a while i know about it so i tend to use them more carefully.

then try diff build, i choose diev. now when i play this, i learn a lot more about cleric class. like at some point, i think cleric need to have either krivis in their build or daino scroll cause u know why. when i cast owls, sometimes i regret it cause either the boss knockback owl or someone kiting it further from it (yeah im looking at u range class). also when im in party with 4 range class, and they all start kiting war, i just dont know at that time whether i should just spam my heal only and run away, or try to attack too (cause obviously im at disadvantage).

2nd, i hate it when im in the same party as another cleric class, but they didnt do their job properly (like cast buff or heal) which usually happen when im in party with monk C1 or chaplain. or worst, if i play other class, and have 1 cleric in party, but instead of saving the heal tiles, they spam it on mobs or boss.

3rd, paper tank. yeah i hate this one too, especially one with lots of hp, but tanking abilty as soft as paper. they started to eat most if not all the heal tiles. also when they dont know not to make boss attacks face the party (same with people who kite).

4th, afk-er in mission. dont know much to say here since not much i can do, but i usually try to be evil like not healing this afk-er or just kite and kill the mob as far as i can

Wiz:
Same with playing cleric(this is 1st class that i play), i didnt realize there’s max buff count. so i spam enchant fire and reflect shield whenever im near party member. since i knew my mistake, later on i use them only when daino on (which i really appreciate if other wiz would be like this too). but even as wiz, i have some problem too when playing in party. not many but quite crucial. like some class casted ground skill (like flame ground or krivis’ zaibas) then someone kiting mobs or boss away from it. or a cyro who mindlessly cast ice wall not in proper position.

Archer:
Last class that i tried (sorry swordie, no love for u). in this case i play as QS. now, since i played other class too, i know what is inconvenient for them. so i tried my best not to repeat same mistake as other archers, like for example kiting boss. i tried kiting it not facing the party or move it around too much unless my HP drop and i need to run away a bit til my pot/heal CD finish. as for the hate towards archer class, all i can say is these people who play archer just need to try other class(especially melee) at least once so they know what it feels like to be in their position. [/details]

Well, that’s it. Thank u to whoever read this long post. I hope it gives insight how to play more mindfull towards what u play atm.
