If kim is really a high up of the company up he should tell his employee to make new official statement in game website that crown 20 will never come instead of just make some statement by replying others question in some messaging platform.

that post of temporary lock is so freaking old and up til now there still no follow up to it and judging by the request keep coming from itos players i believe ktos still have lv 20 crown which this imbalance infuriate itos damage-freak-loyal-no-life-players.
he should know very well how to manage the company and the game and more importantly handling players expectation and discomfort regarding crown situation

From the chat, I think not as much. He said that it was Kim Seyong who is in charge of PC while he is more on ToS Mobile.
Regarding the Relic situation …
To my understanding being in that chat in that time, players were asking about IToS’s situation with regards to Relic 20 about how we still haven’t received Relic 20 when its supposed release date was on the patch in February 2021 AKA way over a year without Relic 20 while doing tougher content balanced around Relic 20, yet we are stuck with Relic 10 while engaging in events, content, farming, rewards and endgame balanced around Relic 20
Kim Hakkyu (or so we believe him to be) expressly said that he never wanted to bring Relic 20 over, admitting it was a mistake and that he “never showed anything that would imply he would bring Relic 20 over” or something (the memes and pictures say otherwise though). With that in mind, the chat was actually leaning towards how IToS’s content should be balanced towards Relic 10 instead so players won’t feel any loss from not getting Relic 20. Players were also talking about how IMC should also address concerns about there being many veterans who farmed for Relic 20 and now have way too much Relic peripherals to spare due to IMC’s non-response and obliviousness to the situation thus far. Kim Hakkyu acknowledged this, telling players in the Discord that he will bring these over to the Dev team and will make an announcement regarding it soon after while reassuring players who tagged him about wanting to convert their Relic peripherals into content points that Relic 20 will never come.
Players were waiting for the announcement to see what balancing and plans IMC has in store for IToS and its Relic 10 situation … and as you can see, IMC basically went screw it just give Relic 20 instead AKA a huge 180 from the chat.

It’s almost impossible to remove the crown especially in their current state
The tremendous boost of power that the crown give is temporary, which is very
different from any other gear. <keyword: tremendous>
They can’t really introduce a new gear with permanent boost to replace the crown,
because every other content that does not require it to be completed, would literally
become child’s play. To make it “atleast” balance they have to increase the difficulty
of all those content and relate the other gears power.
And in order to completely shut this item they have to nerf it to 0.
And that would mean that every other content that requires crown to be completed
should also be nerfed.
What are those content?
They have to review everything that they released starting from the crown’s release which is episode 13, yes including skill rebalances.
Why it’s bad?
Because its too much work, too much resources and too much time.
The best solution for future updates is to continue with the current setup.
The damage has been done.
Might as well increase the level right? lol
He knows its a mistake but didn’t see it coming?
You know its hard when people brand criticism as doom posting.
And help is only considered as suggestions, recommendations and charity.
Might as well remove the word complaint on the dictionary.

I think the decision change is mainly due to this. It would be very complex to launch it at the same time with different crowns. As there is a certain acceptance and until a few days ago the users of itos had in mind that the time for corona 20 would come, it was easier to make that decision

Level it up is easier, cheaper and gonna make those remnant of loyal itos no life hardworking/hardpaying players happy

With this in mind they won’t undergo decision that will cost them a lot even if it’s the right thing to do
They know the rightest thing to do is to remove it or to tweak the mechanic so it will just be another gear, not some stupid crazy boost that originally planned as temporary boost but then for players its deemed as necessity in high end content
Some content won’t even accept people without decent crown
It’s either cheese it with crown and run the dungeon in short time or not at all lol
Also the amount of temporary powercreep it gives can even dispersed into several pieces of new gear type that they can introduce later on lol
With this development path of releasing new gear type once in a while keep ongoing, they have no chance but to keep going up for more powercreep
like the case of chaplain for example, they had to reworked chap again to fit in another powercreep:belt
Probably only after several of powercreeps they will finally realized their mistake and had to redo all the numbers again as it gone out of control like they did already previously

Even so this crown update most likely won’t revive the playerbase in healthy way
Even keraunos update bump the playerbase for like 2 months and its back to it’s actual average numbers prior to that, even lower
How can they expect this thing that only handful
players got access into will rejuvenate the playerbase?
As history repeats, their answer will be trivializing it so it’s accessible early on even for new players.
Crown that being worked on by players for months to reach 20, worshipped like religious item by its zealots, will also soon trivialized like many others.
Crown will soon be like history, like how people don’t give a damn of old gems cause there’s now aether gem
Was old gem mistake? No. Can’t they just tweak it? Yes. But they just have to come with something “fresh” in form of another power creep to keep the players busy and keep having sense of goal or higher achievement
I sympathize those who just play the game merely to chase numbers while content aside it’s actually barren
If you want to get the ideas, try a game with cheat on, maxed stuff, maxed numbers, no matter what the content offer it’s gonna be boring af, the fun will be void unless you are 6 yo kid who love to smash on mobs brainlessly
Or the kind who love to flex to another players on how hard you pay or how no life you are

Yeah, I believe the issue of having two builds is the most important factor about them bringing relic 20.
What I got from the situation was that Kim knew and wanted to keep relic 10 here, but the devs wanted the less time-consuming and easy solution of bringing relic 20 instead of balancing everything onwards around relic 10 for us, making two TOS builds.
I personally wanted relic 10 forever, but I’m also relieved having a solution to all that problem at last.
I’m not a competitive player, so I don’t mind the bigger numbers for people that farmed relic 20 since day 1. And I’m SURELY going to discourage any sign of “discrimination” around the level your relic is at the time of making a Party for a content that’s not Pilgrim or Joint Strike.
