The Hidden Classes

This whole hidden class thing is pretty cool. Considering that we have tools made to help up theory-crafting class builds. This adds a new dimension to the whole thing. As far as I am concerned, I only want to get to the fencer class (because its not a class you find a lot in most mmos and it was my favorite class in DoMo).

I don’t know about you guys but the melee branch as is stands is a little weird, as in some of the class advancements use different weapons. Which makes it hard for me to see how am I going to use my previous skills to benefit my new ones. Its not like the Mage, ranger, or priest branches. I can see how people can make a way to the classes they want to be effectively. Despite this, I still think that the hidden classes will be pretty awesome. After people make enough discoveries then I think we can all get back to the theory-crafting class builds. Its just a thought.

Edit: One more thing. Not playing the game over hidden classes is pretty lame. To be honest it puts a competitive aspect to the game. I don’t see much competition going other than the usual who will be the best guild as in ever mmo. This is something that is going to be unique to people who earned it. I think it brings a deeper meaning to the game and makes me want to play more. However, I’m not the best at catching things. So I’m sure if you speak up about it the devs will come up with a compromise. For example, if the people who end up with those hidden classes quit the game then the class resets and lets others get a chance to get it. Or just make the hidden class limited for each person(s) who find it. This way everyone will get a chance to be these hidden classes if they want to. There is a bad side to this though. If one person finds it they can try to monopolies it and not give anyone a chance. However, there is that fact that more than one person is going to figure it out and it will get leaked one way or another.

I’ll be copy pasting my idea from Reddit here as well.

The hidden class would be available to all players through an extremely
hard chain quest. If it any time the player fails a part or dies during
the quest they forfeit that characters right to that specific hidden
class. To keep this difficulty up the area could have scaling mobs for
the quests OR there could be a level cap for these hidden class quests
to even show up.

If we wanted to get even more extreme. It could lock that hidden class for a set period of time for the account. (1 month/year)

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

I wouldn’t mind having a martial arts class after monk, something that relies more on attacking with dual cestus, Impacter would be a fun name for it.

What about Grand Master? or thats more suitable for shinobi but shinobi might be a hidden class by itself.

Content in this day and age must not be static if it is to remain hidden in any way. There are people who will break the client to pieces just to find hints about hidden classes, and once it’s out there then it’s out there and it’s hidden no more.

By making NPC locations and class requirements dynamic and/or random it’s anyones guess as to what you need.

Honestly though it sounds like they’re trying to get the SWG Pre-CU jedi feel about these hidden classes, in the sense that technically anyone can get to them but it won’t be a cake walk. They’re only for the most dedicated of players.

Hopefully it wont turn into SWG post-CU.

Plague doctor! It will be exciting
Though is it going to be out during the cbt?

That can be really amazing

They revealed the half of classes they promised, the other half might not be higher class advancements of original 4 classes but another 4 basic classes.
It might be:
-Assasin/Ninja
-Bard/cook/fisherman
-Axe Man/Merchant
-Martial arts class

Am I right devs? :troll face:

If they keep that extending the advancements the game will just turn out like other MMOs with not more than 20 classes.
