The grinding in this is boring... due to low/slow spawn rates

that’s a misconception there that’s like saying all Asians love rice… Koreans made grinding games because its a method of keeping people inside the game when subscriptions was around as it is a dirty trick it worked to keep people in the game unfortunately this does not work so much for F2P unless people buy the EXP scrolls.

Especially when the mob you need spawns only in 2 rooms, they are constantly camped by players on all channels, and the mobs take 2-5 minutes to respawn instead of 15 seconds like they used to in previous beta tests.

Apart from that you’re pretty spot on.

its the same system in Raganrok online remember the guy who made ToS also made Raganrok online so he will most likely take core systems that worked from that game to this.

the current spawn mechanic is a bit different than the one on ragnarok

in ragnarok once the monster dies it starts ticking until its supposed respawn time comes.

in ToS the server checks every x minutes to see if a monster on the map died and then starts ticking until its supposed respawn time.

so difference is the way it checks when it die.
from individual checking to group checking.

even if you kill 10 the last 10 sec and killed another 5 after all 15 will respawn at the same time.

Didn’t mob often respawned as soon as they died in RO ?
Because I never emptied “zones” in RO like I did in iCBT2…

oh forgot… yes you are right

some mobs respawn right after they are killed while some (rarer monster or simple object like red plants blue plants etc.) have respawn timer after dying.

Is grinding from like 70 to 80 in masouleum chapel even needed yet? i feel like the xp is so slow that i should just pop my level 3 xp cards ( i got like 420 now) so i can keep doing maps till i reach 86 or so.

Is it somewhat true we should spent all lvl 3 xp cards by level 90? wont i really need them later?

thanks

I think we have to grind differently in this game. Rather than wandering around kill mobs all over the map, we just have to find a good spot and stay there for hours. (I think this the reason IMC introduces so many stationary skills; squire’s and Dievderby’s in particular)

So what we should do is burning SP when the monster spawn then enjoy campfire while chatting with friend.

Still, if IMC really want this kind of grinding, they should make many more spot and IMHO make monsters spawn in waves, If all of first wave die, spawn second wave then third then a long break and back to 1st wave. This will give some variety and manageable monster population.

As for EXP cards, I do really not understand why we should keep it. If from Lv. 1 - 200, we need 1,000 EXP and we use EXP card for 300 EXP, no matter we use it now or later, we have to grind 700 EXP ourselves anyway.

I prefer to burn them to level up faster in order to get all classes I need. This will make my late grinding more enjoyable because I have almost complete skill set to play with.

That is comment of the day material right there thanks for the laugh

or how about drop the race card that you believe is attached to a group of people based on there origin of birth and look at it as a person enjoys that sort of thing and company’s exploit that look at facebook games they are technically a grind and hell loads of people in USA love them games.

That is a problem with todays people when it comes to online games they will often project what others should like and everyone who does not agree with them is a white knight apparently and considered all there facts/evidence it is considered fake yet the person projecting and calling everyone a white knight has bugger all information to back up there claim but believes if they dismiss everyone else’s optional other then there own or those who back them up will considered themselves right…

Reminds me when I was a kid playing imaginary games and you would always have that kid who has a shield that makes him protected from everything because he could not accept a loss.

I choose TOS because one I was a big fan of ragnarok to spend a good 6+ years on it and two I love the art style its very rare to find a game with this sort of style and three because I am not sheeple and if I enjoy something regardless of what others say I am going to play it.

actually you can stay 10 lvl behind the zones you are questing (but not more cause you won’t get the quests anymore) but guess for solo play it’s a bit harder to do zones when you are 10 lvls behind

and proceed to do less damage and get chunked by the monsters lossing money on pots

I didn’t say it’s advisable I said you can. I am a priest and I play duo so even if we are 10 lvls behind while doing quests it’s not a problem. We don’t need to use pots and have no problems killing anything. That being said we only did 3 maps in that situation, we are usually above the lvl of the map without using cards.
