The Future of ToS

I feel so sad to see this.

60% of the founders who started playing quit before Free 2 Play

Free 2 Play is looking to have the same issues.

I’ve had 10 friends try this game against my recommendation. They didn’t understand why I would play a game and not recommend them to play it, but I knew they wouldn’t like it.
Not because of the style of game play. But because you have to actually fight the game to play.

They logged in, couldn’t move with WASD, had a 3 second delay in the starting zone, then logged out. They asked if it gets better, but the sad truth is that it gets worse from here.

No one wants to play a game that you constantly fight, and the charts show this.

Your development and management of this game has pretty much lead a game with a good sized fan following to ruin. You will have a global population of 5,000 by the end of the year if nothing is done about performance and game stability.

So sad to see a company trying to compete with TRION for awards.

Yeah… CCU graphs are pretty bad as are steam review ratios…
Following this path they’ll end up being flagged on steam. LOL

How many of those were bots? I wouldnt really count bots as real “founders”, even though they paid to get early access they got banned, so no wonder the “playercount” dropped when bots got banned.

Did they actually turn on the correct controls option? The server being laggy has no consequence on you being able to control your character, if the server lags the only thing that might happen is getting rubberbanded back, but you should still be able to move. If they couldn’t move at all with WASD (aka the character didn’t react at all) it’s probably the players fault for doing something wrong.

Also, 3 second delay usually means that something else is wrong and it’s not only the servers fault. Probably crappy ISP connection or maybe other programs on the pc down/uploading or maybe DDoS attacks.

Great information

And the sad part is… its all the truth

The game will die, saddly, not because of the community, but the company alone

One of my friends stoped playing when he discovered his build was bad (he was lvl 130) and theres no way to reset, but only to create a new char from the start

You should put other F2P MMORPGs for comparison.

Yea you should totally blame the players. Or DDoS attacks. Yea…that’s it. The servers just get DDoS’d.

Stats don’t lie. The charts are showing population constantly going down and down.

Ignore him, just another white knight who say that IMC is the great company in the world and the players are the ones to blame

Just like Megaman Legends 3 was cancelled because of the “fanbase”

Actually, if you can’t move then it definitely is not the servers fault, because the server can only “snap” you back into the position you are supposed to be.
During each “snap” you can still freely move around. And if this freely moving around doesn’t work in the first place then it must have to do with the controls, in which case either the player didnt use the controls properly, he chose the wrong control options, the control options were configured wrong, the control device didn’t work or it may be a plain game bug.

I don’t think you should say that when you cant show where it has been said that IMC is supposedly the greatest company in the world. Got any links? And yes, if there is a possibility that it’s the players fault then it should be pointed out, and as adults (at least mentally, i hope) people should accept that they can make mistakes. You can’t blame everything on IMC, you have to consider that the user making mistakes is a viable possibility.

GENERICKOREANNONAMEMMO That is the future.

Actually, that’s me, i changed usernames :stuck_out_tongue:
But good to see that we have the same opinion in that matter.

And btw, i’m not on IMCs side nor am i a white knight for them. I respectfully ask you to stop calling me that.
If they screw up and it clearly is their fault i won’t defend them, quite the contrary, i hate alot of things they are doing, like the stupid pricing for the packs, the lack of communication, the crappy servers, etc.

However there are many, many people on this forum who quickly jump to conclusions and blame IMC for everything, even if there is a high chance of a problem not being IMCs fault, like “the servers are laggy due to DDoS attacks… CLEARLY IMC is lieing to us and faking the whole thing to piss us off.”. I mean, come on. Behave like adults, think for a moment and understand that there are more possibilities than just “IMC hates us, everything is their fault!”.

They can’t do anything about it except for coding everything from scratch including new engine. Which of course isn’t something they’re going to do. Thus ToS has no future.

That’s very sad to me considering that it was one of a very few games that I was really looking forward to and was thinking that it’s something I’d like to keep playing for years. But in the end of the day the only part of the game that’s done well and professionally is it’s art. The rest of it is an amateurish mess and embarrassment of gaming industry. They don’t even want to admit that these performance and stability issues exist.
