who gives a crap ???
I respect your opinion and everything you said. But if I were to sum up what you said from that giant paragraph you wrote, it comes down to “The CBT failed and people won’t come back”. With your 20+ years of experienced I expected more details.
I have over 30 years of MMO experience and I say you’re wrong
‘20+ years of experience’ -> writes about how this game is “doomed” and disses IMC’s intelligence without providing IMC any suggestions or ideas for how game can be improved.
If I had 20 years of experience from other MMOs, hell, even other games would count, I’d have a crapload more ideas of how ToS can be improved.
hm, well, i’ve never seen a f2p game that has maintained even a third of it’s population a few months in.
are you sure, i came from -0.275349ω in the divergence meter, I believe I am wrong with my comment which is the only correct answer.
I do respect your opinion.
I do disagree on your last point however. There was an initial disappointment for a lot that this game wasn’t Ragnarok 2.0, but there are a lot of people that accepted the game for what it was, and it’s still the closest modern MMO to RO that we have.
Also, just because there’s a lot of people complaining, it doesn’t necessarily mean they just won’t play. Usually the ones that complain are the people that want the game to succeed and stick with it. Also, there’s the concept of vocal minority. The people that enjoyed the game and the people that want to play but couldn’t get a key FAR outstrip the people that threatens to quit. You just hear about the complaints the most because that’s what people will post about. Citing your vast experience, you should know no game was perfect from the start.
I will say the newly designed market is the first thing that posed a real danger to people quitting though.
Is that something that can be proud of?
There was a Ragnarok 2.0, and it was real bad haha
I’m also 30 and has been playing games for 20 years already. I’d say the game is fine. It caters casual and hard core gamers alike.
There are bugs and balance issues to fix, but that doesn’t change the fact that the game has potential.
The biggest thing the game need right now is more content for each level bracket. And from kOBT I can see that they are doing that. So I vouch for the game’s potential.
Why is everyone bringing their experience into this smh, the people that developed the game are still gonna be better than any gamers with years of experience, just watch and see how the game does, an analysis doesn’t really change anything.

TL;DR: Game could be better.
Don’t bother reading the wall of text.
Mhmm, all I see 20+ years of you in the basement.
CBT was meant to have lots of complain so they could improve it better, I mean, isn’t that the purpose of it? Have you ever heard the term ‘Feedback’? I can’t even recall any game CBT phase not to have many complaints. But oh well you’re the “veteran gamer”.
Truthfully, I don’t expect much from this thread due to its title. Self esteem.
I would like to point out the following:
- Would you consider participating in Tree of Savior OBT in the future?
92.9% Definitely. I will participate 8,166people.
I am not sure. 575people
I won’t 51.
Considering this is the current state of their last question listed, it would seem that a very large population want to play ToS even after this CBT in relation to the survey that they released, the overall satisfaction seems quite high.
I’d also like to mention even though ToS is not in full release yet in Korea, it is ranked in the top 40 MMO games of the country, this is a big deal especially because MMO gaming is highly saturated in Korea Ragnarok Online is also among the top 50, and keep in mind that iRO is running with a player base of about 3-5k in NA and has been for over a decade now. ToS has good rankings everywhere at the moment.
Your concerns seem to be the longevity of the game, I am sure this game will last quite a while in relation to other MMO’s, it is different, it has a unique style to it, and a pedigree that other mmo’s don’t have.
I’d say for those worrying, its not something you need to be concerned about, because this game is a flagship game for this development team, they want it to succeed and so does a very large portion of the community. Its the livelihood of some, and the source of income, so i doubt any abandonment will occur.
If you come into the game without any expectations, you’ll enjoy every second of it, but if you come into the game with comparisons at the ready and look for all these flaws, you’ve already broken the experience for yourself because you set an expectation which should not have been there in the first place.
Go in fresh, forget what you’ve played in the past, that’s how i went in and i enjoyed every second of it.

Nah, my group of people already agree ToS is going to be a classic… And we’ill play it just like RO. Play for a couple months take a break then come back and play more of it. We’ve been doing that with RO since it spawned. Just a game we can always come back to when we get bored. Only worry I have is what Nexon is doing to the poor thing off in Korea. Oh and my group has been playing games together since 1996.
this is probably why i like it at the moment
