The entire Crystal Mine questline is pretty awful

Even outside the fact that a lot of it are simple fetch quests, I feel like the the vast majority of quests involve interacting with NOTHING but broken machines and it makes the entire zone a bit of a chore. I feel that thanks to the lack of real NPCs there’s no plot, no real motivation to do stuff and not even any flavor text or anything else that might distract from the mundane nature of your tasks, something that is especially bad because the hook of a mine being full of demons that have broken loose sounded cool… yet you then find out that the only thing they did was mess with a lot of plumbing and you have to fix it.

I think that putting in some real NPCs would help a lot with things. Make them some of the miners that made their way out or managed to hole in before monsters swarmed the place. Maybe mercenaries that were brought in to help with the huge number of monsters and struggle to even get things done while they defend themselves. Invent a magical radio that allows you to have discussions with people on the surface and add more flavor text beyond “This pipe is broken. Better go fix it!” ANYTHING would help to make a sincerely kind of drab area feel more bearable.

well i found a book shelf on the second stage i guess and there was a intresting story about the mine.

i dont recall the names but it was a dude and a 7 year old kid (girl) who fought the monsters when they appeard in the mines. The dude had no choice but too seal the mine but he and the girl couldnt get out. So i think thats the reason why there are no npcs

You barely expend time in the mines (except when grinding or farming), its fine the way it is, the outside zones that lack more quests, but since the xp table seem to be messed up then we gonna have to wait to see how it goes on the next CBT.

That sounds a bit like nonsense since you have to do the quests regardless of how long or not you might hang out in the mines. Just because it’s over “quickly”, which is honestly an incredibly subjective thing, doesn’t mean the area is any less barren.

I find that the quest experience do suck a bit, but take in to consideration of the poor translation. Although I would truly like to see more effort in the storytelling department.

I hope they fix the translation of the Crystal Mines (not just the text placement). I personally had no idea what I was doing half the time and had to run off my mmorpg instincts which resulted in slaughtering anything with a quest marker and teleporting back to who knows where to spacebar on some broken thing. Then running out and repeating the same procress a few times for a few districts lol. Seemed to work but wasn’t very engaging.

I had no idea what was going on, so I just followed party members around and tried to click on machinery until everything had been clicked three times. Is this a tutorial for advanced use of the map to find markers and labels? They could streamline the machine clicking, make sure you can do it all out of order, and add fluff like one spraying you with water just to surprise players. The third floor was better.

When I was doing the first floor missions, the bosses spawned and I got rekd pretty soon, so I just went back and leveled up a bit. But then somehow I coudn’t get the bosses to respawn again and I got stuck. It took me a while to ask on shoutbox how to proceed and they told me I was supposed to be in a party. So
I got into one but the quest couldn’t be completed anyway. Then it took me more time to realize that I had a quest on the “forfeit” tab that was necessary to completion. Eventually I defeated the bosses alone.

Maybe I was stupid, but making it simple could have saved me some time.
