because he have peltasta.

really?
Joke’s on you because a group in kToS cleared up to floor 20 without a swordman.
to run around, you mean
Yes. They are so good that they even won multiple wars back in the day including against the 300 spartans of the Great King Leonidas, with just a linen as cloth, wooden shield, javelin and leather boots.
ET is nothing compared to those Great Wars. HAIL PELTASTAS!
Well they used a strat that involved having permanent invincibility.
So long as that strategy is around, a swordsman won’t be needed for ET whether it be DPS or tank.
That said, even if it was no longer a possibility to be permanently invincible, tanks necessity is fairly low in ET parties.
You can just as well be fine with enough CC and more DPS. People have cleared floor 6+ just fine with a peltasta aside from that 1 party that cleared floor 20.
But people have cleared fl15+ with a peltasta just the same. Either way with transcendency and the card system coming, DPS become a lot stronger, so having a peltasta will make ET a lot easier than having more DPS.
Pretty sure that was hoplite, not peltasta
3dps 2healers… yeah they managed to clear the 20floors w/o a tank…SR ftw!!
No one NEED tanks in ET or any where in this game. Mage can cover what the tank can do and give so much more dps. So why have tanks?
Baits not tanks

My team clears 6/F currently with no tank.
But if we could have a tank, god life would be much easier. I also think a Peltasta is needed to clear the bugged version of 7/F that we currently have as well.
After a certain point in Earth Tower, you do not need more damage. Despite the 1st, 6th, 11th, and 16th floors being DPS checks, the latter three are not significantly more difficult than one another. I’m pretty confident my current comp can clear 11/F if it was accessible at the moment and do decently well in 16/F.
You need more survivability. We can’t compare to the 20/F clearing comp, because it uses a gimmick to omit survivability being a factor. In all other situations teams need to have just enough damage to clear the floors and then pack the rest of the team with utility, mitigation, and revivals.
Hoplites wore chainmails, leg armor, rounded steel shields and closed helmets.
