Tree of Savior Forum

Thank you IMCGAMES (feedback included)

Thank you for allowing me to participate in the second wave of iCBT. I enjoyed my short time with the game. I had not been closely following the development so I went in blind and I prefer it that way. Soloing bosses as under-leveled Cleric was quite the time-consuming adventure.

I used a PS4 controller to try out Swordsman. I really think a way to change UI to show Square, Triangle, Cross and Circle instead of ABXY would be nice. Being able to use DPAD for opening map or targeting or anything other than movement would be great. Being able to use a controller exclusively with no keyboard or mouse input would be amazing. Final Fantasy XIV has absolutely amazing controller support.

It would be HUGELY beneficial to be able to move the UI around. I played on 5760x1080 and having everything so spread out was a bit rough. This is a very common problem in games. Not many seem to care about this resolution. Admittedly, I know I am in the minority playing at 5760x1080, but being able to move and scale the UI benefits everyone. Aside from hitting the edge of the maps and the inflexible UI, everything looked and ran great at this resolution.

It would be cool to have an automatic screenshot on level-up, but that’s entirely unnecessary. I LOVE the ability to record in-game footage without using third-party programs.

I managed to crash the client messing around with windowed/non-windowed and some other video settings once but I wasn’t able to crash it again so I’m not sure what caused the crash.

I had no idea how to dash until I started to level Swordsman and randomly did it. Making a quest at the start that requires you to dash to the target NPC to deliver an important message would be a good way to introduce people to dashing.

It would be really interesting if you could rotate the heal grid manually somehow and actually place it at a range. Maybe with controller use right analog to move it and a shoulder button to rotate it like Tetris? I’m not sure what the later heal ranks look like so I’m not sure if this would be useful or not.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how upgrading weapons works. A better step-by-step would be a nice help. I had no idea I had to attack the anvil. (lol)

All in all I had great fun playing. I much preferred using the controller rather than keyboard. Cleric felt a lot worse to level because of harsh cooldowns and using ground effects to kill felt strange. I foresee a lot of griefing related to people stealing your ground heals from party members or worse(!), from the monsters you’re trying to kill. With proper controller support I also feel Tree of Savior has a home waiting on the PlayStation 4 (hopefully with cross-platform play <3).

If the client crashed, in your ToS folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior), you’ll find a file “StackDump_[date].txt” that will contain the information about the crash, try to copy/paste it in a Beta Bug Report thread.

Yes, I reported something like that, when you this mode in options windowed/non-windowed
I remember that client crashs sometimes

I don’t see a log file there, it may have just force closed.
